Summary
1231 A.D.
After a nasty skirmish along the England/Scotland border at Bog Wood, a badly wounded knight has crawled off to die. As women from the Clan Scott fan out across the battlefield to collect the spoils of war, one woman breaks off from the pack. She is sickened by the tradition of stealing valuables off the dead and runs off to hide. In her hiding place, however, lingers the badly wounded knight. The young woman is frightened at first but her natural instinct to lend aid takes over. She tends the knight and saves his life. Little does the Lady Jordan Scott know that she has just saved the life of the dreaded English knight known to her people as The Wolf.

A beautiful love story
Jordan and William are so good in all ways. They are both stubborn, kind, wilful and a great match once they get past the Scottish / English fighting. It is a well written story of honour and friendship, love and Jealousy. The characters are strong and lovely to read about. I have read this book 4 times and listened to it three times. I just love The Wolf and his knights and Jordan, Gemma and Calli. Although it is a love story it is also set in the past were knights were bold and fought for honour and family. It is historical but not boring. A great read. It is well worth the time it takes to read it. Thank you for writing it.

Epic Medieval Romance
Over 35 hours of listening to the delicious romance of Scottish Jordon and her English Wolfe. I loved the detail. The story was filled with romance and action, a bit of mischief and border politics, some intrigue and a whole lot more. Perhaps 37 hours of listening was a little too long but the plot seemed to manage the length well.
Guy Veryzer did a good job of performing the narrative. He gave each character's personality the proper attention it deserved and overall brought the story to life.
If you like Medival romances, this book is definitely worth a listen. I am now committed and cannot wait to hear the remaining books in the series.
This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Enthralling
I have all of Kathryn Le Veque's medieval books and now have enjoyed listening to one of my favourite stories. I shall enjoy exploring more audio read tales.

Is this narrator a computer?
The story. Is brilliant and extremely enjoyable.
I had to read this story as I couldn't not stomach the narrator, I am sure it was a computer programme reading this. This thoroughly ruined the book for me. Please consider having this re-narrated.

I tried but just could not finish
What did you like best about The Wolfe? What did you like least?
I liked the plot and the storyline, but the narrator spoilt it for me
How could the performance have been better?
The narration was very slow, I don't know if this is a problem with the recording or the narrator, but even trying to listen to this book on a faster speed, made it sound like a robot. I felt like the narrator did not enjoy reading this book as the was no life nor feeling in this narration.
Any additional comments?
I have listened a few of Kathryn Le Venue's books and am now a great fan, I was really looking forward to listening to this book, but the narration just spoilt it for me, would like to see the narration fixed, as I would still like to listen to this book

The Wolfe
This book is amazing. It has taken me a long while to complete it. At first the narration was very slow, but as the story went on so the narration got better. The story tells of the English King was fed up of the fighting between the English and the Scottish clans. So he arranged a marriage between Lord de Longley who was English and Jordan Scott who was the daughter of a Scottish Laird. He sent a team of knights to collect Jordan. It took many days to travel from Scotland to where the Earl lived in England. The story is of a love story between Jordan and the Knight called the Wolfe. The Scottish Clans and the English fought despite the arrangement of Jordan and the Earl.
The Earl soon picked up that Wolfe loved Jordan and he arranged a secret marriage between them. There were so many things in this book, love, wars, marriage, babies, that it is difficult to pin point them without giving everything away. I enjoyed this book immensely. The narration was better the more the book went on. I loved this book and I will definitely listen to it again at some point.

Absolutely brilliant story
Loved every second of the 37hrs of this book. I think that all her books should be turned into a tv series especially this one. The only thing I missed in this story was that nothing was mentioned about his past of when he was a young man and how he used to gamble and win all the soldiers and Knights things. And that he became rich just with gambling and he also used to win the finest war horses. And how at a very young age of about 16yo he was always with the Knights that served William Marshall and too served William Marshall. Addix and Essien weren't mentioned at all and they were great friends of his when he had joined the Tournament Circuit with them and Paris and Kieran. He was about 23 - 24yo then. None of these things of his past were mentioned.
Didn't like the narrator very much. At times he sounded like a robot and you could tell he was American, which in my opinion is the wrong narrator for an English story. And he read in slow motion, but when I sped it up quite a bit, like up to 1.40, it got better. Towards the end I did get used to his voice and it wasn't that bad.
But I still loved every second of this story. Now on to the next one which is The Red Fury, Andrew d'Vant 's story.

Dreadful!
The narration on this is so bad that I contacted audible thinking there was a fault. However, I've been informed that the sound is fine and GV is supposed to sound like he's been drugged! It improves a little if you speed it up, but it's still painful to listen to and I eventually gave up.
The Wolfe is a great story, but until there's another audio version released I'll stick to the book and strongly recommend that others do the same.
