Summary
Rosemount Cottage was exactly as her grandmother left it…
Hat on the coat stand.
Slippers by the chair.
Poisoned tea leaves in the strainer…
Tamsyn Pride knows someone–or something–killed her grandmother. But every attempt she makes to catch the killer is met with whispers behind her back and suspicious looks. In the sleepy village of Much Wenlock, everyone has a secret. Everyone has something to hide.
Meanwhile, in the churning depths of the River Severn, a lost soul has been summoned–and they will stop at nothing to exact their deadly revenge.
Yet there is only one person the villagers are terrified of. They just have to pray she doesn't remember she was once a witch with the power to destroy them all.
The Winter Crone is a contemporary dark fantasy series filled with folklore, witchcraft and myth. If you love A Discovery of Witches and Her Majesty's Royal Coven, pick up the first gripping instalment from The Arcane Tales of Tamsyn Pride.

Good story, good narration. Lovely surprise that it's set in an area I know well.

I enjoyed it
Not a bad start to what I suspect is going to be a series. If it isn’t going to be a series, then there are far too many unanswered questions LOL!
Set in Much Wenlock and linked to the River Severn, this is a story of local power, politics and ambitions which is used as a backdrop to our heroine’s story to try and make sense of her life.
Very original and I will certainly be looking forward to the next instalment.

Outstanding
Loved the narrator and slight twang of Welsh, the story was brilliant - I’ve been totally engrossed and couldn’t put it down. The perfect amount of suspense, drama, witchcraft. The characters were very believable and easy to relate to. Enough myth and magic to appeal to those but not so much to make it unbelievable. Thoroughly loved this book
