About this listen

In the forbidden deserts of Yemen, a structure has been found—a buried pyramid—thousands of years older than anything previously known. And indications are, it was buried on purpose.

What is discovered inside could prove that we’re not alone in the universe. And terrifyingly, after 7,000 years, there is a biological obscenity that remains, not yet dead.

Ancient writing suggests the pyramid’s builders have been taking humans for reasons that will tear at all sanity, and when evidence is found that in remote corners of the world people are still disappearing, the HAWCs are called to action.

In a final battle across two worlds—with the fate of the planet at stake—Alex Hunter and his team will be pushed to their very limits as they confront a horrifying and deadly army.

Great stuff!

Greig Beck has such an imagination! He must give himself nightmares lol
Very good listen.
As usual I listened at 140% speed because Sean Mangan reads way too slowly. However, he read the book well - apart from the speed of delivery.
Looking forward to listening to the next one 😁

Always awesome!

Another excellent story from Greig Beck, never fails to draw me in to the story, fall in love with the characters, and then leave me cursing when the book comes to the end cos I don’t to leave his world of monsters and intrigue 😂! Hopefully, Mr Beck has many more books to come! I really like Sean Mangan as the narrator, happily listen to his voice for hours on end! 😊

Another great story bit 'Stargate'ish

Enjoyed this one a lot more than the last one, don't think its the last of Alex Hunter but might be awhile before we see him and his gang - still only a Captain? Bit grusome as you would imagine, would have prefered a bigger payback to the main bad guys but guess its left open for a rematch like with the Kraken? Also Joshua's night time hobby seems not to have been addressed?

Hunter's swansong

If like me you've followed the adventures of Alex Hunter and the hawcs you will know how this story goes, a brainwashed soldier ( Hunter) has to release his inner demon to save someone close to him whilst the rest can fall at the wayside. Joking about that, but you'll get my meaning . The reason I have stated Hunter being a brainwashed soldier is simply the way beck has written the character and his handler/commander lets isolate a man from family yet keeps an eye on the next supersoldier (his son), yet Hammond is meant to think of him as a son, the swansong is typical Alex Hunter beating everything in his path, to be honest back should try to resolve the issues that those around Alex have seen and warned him about the true motives behind hammond. It is now becoming less enjoyable to read about the hawcs and unless the author breeds new life this should be the last of hunter's tales. I do love Beck's other works and his descriptions of world's and fauna are brilliant but for this series it's just feels like the same troupe scooped out of a backlog of ideas. Sorry about my writing and misspelling of names not so good myself
