Summary

By fire, we are cleansed. Through fire, we are forged. In fire, we return to the earth.

Ward and the others of his team may have survived their first year of training at the House of Fire, but revelations of betrayal and the truth of Vail are fresh in their minds as they face the oncoming year. Ward's unexpected change during the seed ritual sends shockwaves through the country. The once crumb is now one of the most powerful people in all Vail, but Ward is left just struggling to survive the reality of his new situation.

Though they have grown greatly, cruel fates and troubling truths are revealed as the team is forced into the wilderness. New betrayals, new revelations, and new dangers that lurk behind every tree. Even with his newfound power, will Ward be able to protect those he now calls family, much less himself? Or will he watch his loved ones parish just like his father?

The Weeping of Willows is sure to keep you on your toes as the second installment of The Ilamantium Saga!

A Fantastic Book 2

I found this audiobook to be very engaging. There was plenty of action, intrigue, a lot more world-building and several surprising twists and turns. Unlike the first book, which I thought took a bit to get going, this one had really good pacing. But, just like the first book, it ends with an unexpected cliff-hanger that will leave you hungry for more. Alas, I see the sequel is not due to come out for two more months, but I'm sure it will be worth the wait!
