About this listen
Hal Mulberry has long dreamt of owning the iconic painting, Buttermere at Dawn. And now the entrepreneur has got his hands on it, he’s determined to bring it back to the Lakes where it belongs and put it on show, turning Penrith Village Hall into a cultural hotspot – with the painting at its heart.
Journalist Jason Brazel is delighted to get the exclusive. Even if his mother in law, Amita, thinks he’s making a fuss about an ugly piece of modern art. But when Amita uncovers a theory that the painting is cursed, she wonders just what Hal is bringing to their door: hex, hoax or dirty-deal?
While the great and the good gather for the unveiling, someone’s got murder on their mind. And it’s up to Jason and Amita to find who is trying to put people out of the picture … permanently.

Another fun listen
I liked the narrator, and the variety of characters. This was the second book in the series I have listened to. I'll look for others as they are very easy to listen to and follow.

Easy listen
The follow up to The Bingo Hall Detectives, really enjoyed both and hope there are more to come. Nice to see the development of the two main character’s relationship. I like the pairing of a mother in law and son in law, not often seen in this genre, the diversity works really well. The narrator is great and portrays each character seamlessly. A fab easy listen cosy crime.

Long and Drawn Out
Having completed this books prediceddor I thought I would give the next a go. Mistake. It is the same Son and Mother in law team. Still very well read but this time each scene is drawn out far too long and I found myself fast forwarding many times just to get to the next chapter. It still has a few chuckles. But I just was just greatful to get to the end. Pity. Quite enjoyed the first one....

'Gotten'? Why have you said that? British Journalist according to your bio.
Call me pedantic but WHY bring in American English? This is the second book Ive listened to and I do love your stories, I've overlooked 'none are' several times but 'gotten'.
