Utter historical and literary DUMPSTER FIRE

As a reader, I was insulted. Not only is the narration beyond cringeworthy and NOTHING is pronounced correctly, but the very obvious absence of any research was horrible. The sheer arrogance to even write a book set in a historical city without any knowledge of the place or culture is shameful at best. I accept the typical trashy and completely unoriginal romance factor, but please write books set in places you have actually been. Too many inaccuracies to list them all, but here are a few:

1. Venetians do not "siesta" as many Americans tourists falsely believe, that is in Spain. We have a "riposo" and this typically is about long lunches, relaxing or running errands. A midday break benefits shop owners who are open late and it breaks up a potential 12 hour day.
2. True Venetians generally never participate in Carnivale activities and they all flood out of the city during the month of February. Carnivale was resurrected in the 1980's by the local government of commence in an effort to promote tourist profits during an off season month and most Venetians find it a grotesque mockery of the culture. It is purely for the foreign tourists.
3. The comments about "all American women only want to sleep their way through Europe" was not only crude, but utterly inaccurate. I'm not even American and I was offended.

At BEST, I'm utterly shocked this rubbish book was actually published. It is just a bunch of remedial words and false stereotypes dumped into a bin.
