About this listen

In the witty, sizzling finale to award-winning author Nancy Herkness's Wager of Hearts series, a haunted writer conquers his demons with the help of a feisty muse and a passion that doesn't play by the book.

Gavin Miller, the billionaire author of a best-selling thriller series, struggles with a grim secret: he hasn't written a word in more than a year.

Writer's block is killing his spirit and jeopardizing his contracts with his publisher and his Hollywood producers. Prodded by his agent, Gavin reluctantly agrees to see Allie Nichols, a sassy physical therapist tasked with treating the novelist's severe neck and shoulder pain - and maybe his writer's block, too.

The tempestuous Gavin and no-nonsense Allie soon find themselves entangled in a steamy affair that sparks Gavin's creativity again. But their manipulative ex-lovers and Gavin's lingering childhood scars threaten their happily ever after. Can Gavin and Allie find their way to love when the stakes are high and the obstacles are overwhelming?

Not my favourite in series but still great HEA.

Book 3 of the Wager of the Hearts series
Gavin is a writer of a famous Julian Best spy novels that have had amazing success and movie rights as well.
When Gavins dad dies and his step-mum is horrible to him he seeks privacy and alcohol.
That’s where he meets Nathan and Luke both having problems in there personal life and gone to Bellweather club to sink into a bottle and forget there troubles.
Gavin ends up making a bet with the two other billionaires to find love but I don’t think he realised it would be so hard.
Ali is a PT and Gavin agent gets them in touch. Gavin is not happy and doesn’t want someone in his house. That is until he realises she’s a miracle worker and a muse.
Ali ends up helping Gavin with his novel but this heat up fast and Ali try’s to keep thing professional but that’s hard when Gavin is constantly thinking about sex.
The only thing about the book is too much sex which I’d never think I’d write in a review but Gavin seems to constantly want to have sex and Ali heats up just with a look but otherwise did enjoy this book to finish of the series.

Lovely Series with a Lovely Ending

This wasn't just a smaltzy series for die hard romantics, although I found myself questioning (in each book) how each couple really got to know each other when the whole focus of their relationships was sex! But notwithstanding that, I found the trio interesting and absorbing.

I don't know if I would have invested in this series of my own accord - it's a far cry from the genres I usually read - but it came up as part of my Kindle Unlimited subscription, and was well worth it.

There are more stories to be told about some of the secondary characters, it would be nice to see them emerge. Enjoy!

A great ending to this trilogy

With all his snark and bark I really couldn't wait to hear Gavin's story. Ms Herkness didn't disappoint.

Gavin and Ali are a great couple because they complement each other so well! Their characters are well crafted so you understand their motivations and actions, and even their really badly made decisions.

This book is exactly what it says on the tin. The journey of a romance, the family characters on the periphery, the presumptions and assumptions that confuse them as they get to know each other.

Nicely told Ms Herkness. I'll read your books again.

Cracking ending

Best of the three kept me hooked. Although I saw the fall out coming it was still exceptionally done. Would have wanted to see the two evil women ex fiancé and step mother get their comeuppance
Well done Nancy

Excellent story line that grows and develops

This book along with the two other books that come as a result of the wager made by the three men, is superb. All three books capture the characters even when you think you prefer one over another. Listen to all three, they are great.
