About this listen
Marlo is a living her best life in sunny Sydney and avoiding thinking about her past at all costs. Avoiding thinking about the quaint village life she left behind in Britain. Avoiding thinking about that fateful Christmas Day.
When Marlo is unceremoniously ghosted by her part-time lover, she decides she’ll need to avoid the whole Christmas season. That is actually pretty easy in this country, because it’s so hot and so far away from anything that means Christmas to her. But Marlo’s flatmate Alex is determined to lift her out of her grinch slump and convince her that Christmas Down Under may be unfamiliar, but exactly what she needs to start her life on a new course. Alex, with his calm order and terrible Dad jokes. Alex, with his sparkling Christmas cocktails, his chiseled jaw and washboard abs. Alex, who’s going to turn Marlo’s Christmas wish list upside down.

Predictable, but great
A cheesy, predictable love story, but a fun easy listen. Short and sweet. Give it a go.

Sweet Christmas story spoiled by Australian narrator putting on posh English accent!
Sweet Christmas story spoiled by Australian narrator putting on posh English accent! She sounded like a newsreader. Such a shame.

An OK easy listen story
This was an OK easy listen story, although very predictable. Narrator sounded a little irritatingly "posh" and also too old to read the part of a twenty something girl.

The Upside Down Christmas
I enjoyed this book but it confused me so much. I kept thinking it’s Christmas… but she’s wearing a summer dress. I had to keep reminding myself that she was in Australia. So, it was a nice change from lines like “I had to get warmed up by the fire” and “It was so cold outside my fingers were turning blue”. Marlo was just off at the beach, loving life and it was quite refreshing.
Synopsis
After dumping her cheating boyfriend, Marlo’s plans for a Christmas in Thailand are ruined. Staying at home in Australia has its perks though, with super-hot nurse and housemate, Alex being one of them. When Alex discovers the reasons Marlo runs away every Christmas, he makes it his mission to make her enjoy it again.

it was ok for an included listen
this is one of those books that's ok to listen to whilst doing something else, it was a nice enough story but nothing really happened and it's unfortunately instantly forgettable, I don't think the narrator helped tbh I think she was an odd choice for this kind of book personally
