About this listen
Never, ever fall for your brother’s annoying, infuriating, gorgeous best friend.
Gia Norcross’ life is exactly how she likes it. She has a successful PR firm in San Francisco, a beautiful apartment, a loving family of overprotective brothers, and her fabulous designer shoe collection. Perfection. Sure, occasionally she has to deal with her aggravating nemesis who happens to be her brother’s best friend. Saxon Buchanan: former Delta Force, tall, rich, handsome, bossy, and knows how to work her last nerve.
She’ll never, ever admit to anyone that most days, she isn’t sure if she wants to punch the arrogant, tattooed, suit-wearing know-it-all...or kiss him.
After a military career spent in a covert special ops team doing hard, dirty, and very classified missions, Saxon Buchanan is happy working at Norcross Security as the company’s top troubleshooter. He also enjoys the perks of civilian life. That includes sparring with smart, sexy Gia of the wide brown eyes, luscious curves, and sharp tongue. He’s spent half his life fighting the pull of his best friend’s little sister.
But seeing a man aim a gun at Gia changes everything.
When Gia’s troubled childhood best friend drags her into a really, really bad situation, soon bullets are flying, precious gemstones are missing, and Gia’s in danger. Saxon’s done pushing away the one woman he’s ever wanted. He’ll do everything to protect her, and he’s not letting anything get in his way: not the bad guys, not his best friend, and especially not Gia.

Family Matters
Anna Hackett's great new series continues with another pulse pounding suspense this time featuring little sister Gia and her fiery non relationship with her brother's best friend and former fellow team mate Saxon Buchanan and the trouble her friend gets her into. As Saxon, along with her overprotective brothers, tries to protect her from the bad guys searching for a missing diamond, he struggles with his feelings for Gia and his loyalty to the Norcross Family a family that are important to him.
Will Saxon put his heart as well as his life on the line for Gia or will he be unwilling to risk the only family that matters to him. Will Gia put aside her pre-conceived opinions about rich and privileged Saxon. More importantly can Norcross keep her alive long enough to have her happy ending.
I thoroughly enjoyed this latest edition of Norcross Security. The characters are engaging and Stella and Teddy's narration is top notch. Looking forward to the next instalment.
I received this book for free from the author and this is my unbiased review.

Gia's story!
This series is everything I love to listen to! Anna Hackett knows how to push all the right buttons for me, and I could not have had a better Christmas present!! Gia is the only sister in the Norcross family, but growing up with these alpha male brothers has given her grit! She is loyal to the end, and when it comes to her friend Willow, she will do whatever it takes to be there for her. Now Willow has brought danger to her home, and Saxon, her brother's best friend is there to protect her. Gia being off limits to Saxon has kept him away, but now he is determined to make her his. But will his feelings get in the way of keeping her safe? Does she feel the same way? Talk about witty, sarcastic banter! I love these two. They dance around each other, a little bit of a slow burn, but when it ignites, their passion is explosive. Add in the taboo of being her being Vander's sister, the story takes on a whole aspect of big brother possessiveness. Gia is feisty, and I love her! She is independent and determined to deal with things on her own. Saxon is a little over the top in the beginning, but I love his protectiveness. He knows what he wants, and does what he has to. I also love the interaction with the Norcross brothers. Each their own personality, they bring a cohesiveness to the story and make for an action packed and exciting listen. I can't wait to hear Easton's story next!
Teddy Hamilton and Stella Bloom bring this story to life. It's full of action and romance, and these two are perfect for the roles. Hamilton takes on Saxon's alpha personality and gives us all those possessive feels. Bloom brings out the spunkiness of Gia, and still lets us feel her vulnerability. These storytellers are perfectly cast and made for an enjoyable listen.

Always enjoy an enemies to more story!
If you want a hit romantic suspense...with a b@d@$$ heroine...then look no further! Gia Norcross is the only sister of the 3 hot and deadly Norcross brothers. She has a successful business and great family and friends...if only she didn’t have to constantly see the bane of her existence, Saxon Buchanan. He’s wealthy, sexy, and her brother’s best friend. She doesn’t have feelings for him...not one bit...well, ok, maybe a teensy crush from childhood...but he’s still annoying! When Gia is almost kidnapped, Saxon steps in and takes her protection to the next level. Saxon has always known that Gia’s soft heart towards her childhood friend, Willow, would get her into trouble...and now it has! It’s up to him...fine, and the rest of the Norcross team...to protect Gia and stop the bad guys before it’s too late. This book is fast paced, super steamy and action packed! There may be some slapping of bad guys included! Great story! Teddy Hamilton and Stella Bloom really pulled off the angsty relationship between Gia and Saxton!! Definitely a re-listen for me. Looking forward to big brother, Easton Norcross, story next!

So many entertaining elements
I’m now officially a fan of the author. The books aren’t perfect, but there are so many entertaining elements and things I enjoyed!
For instance, I love her female characters. They’re sensible, nice, feminine, somewhat fragile, but faced with danger, they take matters in their own hands, no matter how scared they are. That’s the case with Gia, who doesn’t let fear paralize her. And what’s better? Their men, who are obviously of the alpha male kind–possessive, badass, strong and muscular, that’s ex-black ops for you–will opt to just follow them, even when they want to keep them safe. They relinquish power if needed. Saxon is definitely of that sort, modeling his house to please the woman he loves.
Gia and Saxon are both headstrong, so of course any confrontation results in sparks. And where there are sparks, there’s the possibility of a fire. The chemistry is off the charts, and there are many intimate scenes to prove it.
Family is another element of this book–the one you’re born into, and the one you choose. Gia’s devotion to her friend Willow, and the way Saxon was kind of adopted into the Norcross family are well developped and beautiful, while Saxon’s parents show that blood is sometimes thinner than love.
The narrators of the previous book are back, and since the characters are forged in the same furnace, they’re still perfect for the job.
In the same manner that this book follows exactly the previous one–starting where the other ended–, there’s a hint about the next book in the series, and I can’t wait.

Absolutely fantastic
I love this series. The characters are brilliant. I love how the women are strong and independent but also open to help from these big buff Alpha’s. A fantastic performance from both Stella and Teddy. Excellent action and it flows nicely into the next book. Looking forward to it.

The wrong type of action!
WARNING: VERY MILD SPOILER AHEAD!
I decided to give this a try even after being disappointed with the first book in the series. Gia had been described as a much more headstrong character than the female MC of the last book, so I was hopeful for a bit more of a respectful relationship between her and the male MC. Admittedly this may be because I’m just not at all a fan of the toxic “Alpha” male trope, but I find it hard to believe that any liberated woman would enjoy repeatedly being silenced with a hand over her mouth, a man coming on to her perpetually right after she’s been physically assaulted, or her partner TELLING her that he will marry her in front of all her family, without any hint of actually asking her or planning a nice proposal.
The first book had a good mix of action and sex scenes, but this one was just repeated sex scenes with maybe one or two plot related things happening very infrequently. I love a good action adventure romance, so I was very disappointed to read a “sometimes action pornmace”. If that’s your sort of thing then you’ll love this, but I was promised the other kind of action so I find the book’s description to be a bit misleading. It’s a good job I listened to this in my car rather than on a public train, as I found myself yelling “AGAIN?! This is the 4th time they’ve had sex in this chapter, SLOPPY SEX DOESN’T JUST MAGICALLY HEAL ALL TRAUMA!” 😂
The narrators were excellent, they made the best of what they had but this is just poor writing and some outdated (even toxic) themes for me. The nail in the coffin was the typo near the end, they can’t even be bothered to edit this properly 😩
