Summary
Someone is watching her from the shadows. And stopping him could change history.
A stranger thrusts Ember Brighton into another time, where she learns her crumbling life has a greater purpose. Pursuing this new life, however, will leave her loved ones in danger until she realizes who she is and what she’s capable of. If she fails to work quickly enough, her mother’s deadly fate will be sealed.
When the confident and mysterious Rane Andersson shows up at all the right moments to help, Ember can’t help but distrust his motives. Without him, though, she’s left with more questions than answers and more people trying to kill her than she can fight off alone.
Despite her reservations, she’s forced to put her faith in him. Now Ember’s running out of time to find her way home, save her mother, and fix the balance of time itself.
Will her run-ins with rogue vampires and evil shifters prove to be more than she can overcome? Or can Ember face her destiny head on?
Fans of the Outlander and A Shade of Vampire series will be hooked on the newest time-traveling paranormal romance saga!

give me no.2, rn!!! lol
time travel, magic, pirates, vampires, mysteries, passiin..what's not to like? the story is interwsting but i wish at time it moved a bit faster. the characters are all well described and also very interesting, including the bad guy. it's overall well written and left me wih the desire to read more of the series. the narrators are defintely good readers and i believe specifically Aaron was the perfect choice here as his british accent is fantastic, but sometimes he overacts sounding like he is hosting a show more than acting. too bad because when he doesn't do that, he is brilliant and has a great voice.
i have received a free copy of his audiobook and i am voluntarily leaving a review.

Time travel, vampires and pirates love it
Narration worked well for me and it was a easy and enjoyable listen. Looking forward to the next book to see how the story unfolds.
Its not a stand alone book but I think this story is well worth paying for. I would of added the prequel to the beginning of first book, as it is such a part of the story.

Hooked!
I love this series! Ember and Rane's story picks up where the prequel left off, but without Ember remembering ever meeting Rane. This book's action packed with shifters, vampires and time travelers and I need to keep on going with the next book, since it ends on a bit of a cliffy. Sarah Puckett and Aaron Shedlock's narration is excellent as always. ❤❤❤❤❤

So much fun!
Vampire pirates, shifters and time-traveling, oh my! There is so much in this story and it's written really well, making it feel like a true adventure. In this book, we meet Ember, who finds herself time-traveling into Rane, a vampire pirate's domain. She doesn't remember ever meeting him before but there's definitely a back story and the backstory was fun to learn about. There's an evil shifter contingent that they must fight and this is a 3 book series so there's a cliffhanger. Overall, this is such a fun series!
Aaron Shedlock and Sarah Puckett were fantastic at playing the multiple characters and this was a great auditory experience.

This is a fantastic well written storyline. With lots of time jumping and completely different settings it will have you begging for more. The characters are very different and intriguing. A fantastic performance from both Sarah and Aaron.

Pirates, vampires and portals
OMG, what a journey! Many, many things happened in this part of the story, we've get yo know a bit more about Amber and her abilities, but there's still much more to earn and discover. I really like the relationship between her and Rain and love the way it is slowly developing, I can't wait to see what is next for them and their journey.
The epilogue let's you on edge wanting to know more and ready to jump into the next book.
The narration of Sarah Puckett and Aaron Shedlock was pretty great, together with their incredible narration enhance the story so much more.

BOOK 🌟🌟🌟
AUDIO 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
First of all the audio for this book was good, voices fitted the roles of the characters perfectly with the different times.
I don’t often read paranormal stories but I enjoyed this one. I liked the different times zones and how they loads of history and stuff she didn’t know.
The female character Ember just wasn’t my favourite heroine, she got more likeable by the end of the story.
I will be reading the future books to get more of the story as a lot of mystery in first one and hoping my like for Ember shows in future books.

Fantastic!
This is such an exciting story, I am loving this series. Picking up right where the prequel left off, we have Ember pushed into time travel. No idea what is happening, she finds out just how important her life is. She meets Rane, a vamipre pirate, and he keeps popping up just when she needs him, making him suspect. Traveling back and forth, Ember collects more and more information on her true calling. It's an incredible journey, with exciting characters and a slow burn romance that just keeps the heart waiting. Danger eminent, lives on the line, secrets revealed, the story ends on a bit of a cliffhanger! Applegate is creating fantastic characters for his story. Ember is interesting. She is smart, and I love how she is accepting of her mission as she learns her past and her future. Rane is man we all want to protect us. There each time she needs him, he worms his way into our hearts. The secondary cast enhances the story, bringing information, fear and love . I am looking forward to the next installment of this series to see where Ember and Rane go!
Sarah Puckett and Aaron Shedlock are our storytellers and boy can they tell a story. Puckett is incredible as Ember. She has a lot of emotional turmoil to get through, and with her inflections, we can feel exactly where Ember is. Shedlock as Rane is perfection. He is strong, and not silent! Bringing Rane to life as the hero comes through with every breath. I love these two and look forward to their next collaboration.
