About this listen
What does the future hold? The question is completely subjective to imagination, because no human will ever see what the future holds beyond their lifetime...or will they?
The story begins with an inventor speaking to a group of men about the unbelievable time machine that he has built. The men scoff at this idea and do not believe his incredible tale. The inventor, wanting to prove his theory, produces a miniature time machine that disappears into thin air, to the amazement of all. The men, still skeptical, come back the following week to find the man in disarray as he tells them of a great time-travelling adventure.
This time the inventor has seen and been to the future, he explains to the men, so far into the future - 800,000 years, approximately - that nothing is recognizable. Peaceful creatures roam this world, but down below the earth dangerous beings reside that will stop at nothing to destroy him.
The time machine takes the inventor on several other adventures throughout the book, traveling through many other worlds, but without proof who will believe him?
