About this listen
The Thirteenth Chime is is an adventure in the series featuring Tussel Fleabane, Adviser and Protector, as he continues his work of protecting the plants and animals as their world is changing fast.
Tussel Fleabane is no ordinary being. In fact he is too tiny to be even considered as a man. He can stand inside a daffodil trumpet to shelter from a shower of rain, or even swing on a spider's web to cross a stream, and sometimes, just for fun, he'll grab a handful of dandelion seeds and float through the air!
In this story he is tasked by the forces of nature to rescue the last sundew plants living in Crosswart Copse before their world is destroyed as the copse is turned into a lake for the new landowner. Tussel, with the help of Deela the spider, goes through fire and flood to rescue the tiny seeds, and finally in the following spring, takes them to a mossy gorge near Bethwood Church, where they are safe and able to grow into fine new sundews.
We are all aware that children care deeply about what is happening to our world. In this book they will identify with a champion of nature and learn that you are never too small to make a difference!
