About this listen
This is not a book of facts; it’s a book of ‘facts’. Should you finish it believing we became the planet’s dominant species because predators found us too smelly to eat; or that the living bloodline of Christ is a family of Japanese garlic farmers – well, that’s on you.
Why are we here? Do ghosts exist? Did life on Earth begin after a badly tidied-up picnic? Was it just an iceberg that sank the Titanic? Are authors stealing their plotlines from the future? Will we ever talk to animals? And why, when you’re in the shower, does the shower curtain always billow in towards you?
We don’t know the answers to any of these questions. But don’t worry, no matter what questions you have, you can bet on the fact that there is someone (or something) out there, investigating it on your behalf. From the sports stars who use cosmic energy to office plants investigating murders, The Theory of Everything Else will act as a handbook for those who want to think differently.

Loved it
Kept me interested, binge listened to most of it - hopefully he will release more books with a similar theme.

If you liked Fortean Times you’ll love this.
Funny, joyous, fascinating. Bermuda Triangle, hollow Earth, lizard people, the lot. Remember when conspiracy theories were just fun & not lumped in with far-right political nutjobs? This is about those fascinating theories and batshit beliefs of some very clever, successful people you’d think would know better. This book is excellent fun.

Lots of interesting stuff, but to much theremin.
The book in itself is very good. It's chock full of interesting titbits that you can throw into conversation and stories of coincidences that will bend your brain. If you're familiar with Dan's podcasts, The Cryptid Factor and We Can Be Weirdos, then you may have already heard a few of them, but there are plenty more to entertain. My only gripe with the audiobook is the music at the start of each chapter. There's more theremin in there than I would have liked. It's uncomfortable to listen to and unnecessary in my opinion. I thought Dan had got work for his chum who did the music for his podcasts, which consoled me a little, but it turns out it wasn't that guy. I may have to FFwd through the music next time I listen.

Excellent listen
Good quality audio and a lovely book about the madness of our world and the weird things in it, delivered from a standpoint of (open-minded) science and sanity

Really makes you think outside the box
This is great! It’s nice to know that we all have our own “batshit” interests, and lovely to think about something outside the norm for once! More of this type of thing please…
