About this listen

When my parents split up they didn't know what to do with me ...

My family always lived at Mulberry Cottage. Mum, Dad, me – and Radish, my Sylvanian rabbit. But now Mum lives with Bill the Baboon and his three kids. Dad lives with Carrie and her twins. And where do I live? I live out of a suitcase. One week with Mum's new family, one week with Dad's.

It's as easy as A B C. That's what everyone says. But all I want is to go home – back to Mulberry Cottage...

Critic reviews

"Gripping, funny and sensitively written." ( The Independent on Sunday)
"A modern story, realistic with lots of witty, offbeat humour." ( The Daily Telegraph,)
"A witty and moving tale of divorce." ( The Times)
"A deeply moving account of a child's agony and bewilderment as she suffers from her parents' divorce. Feelings tumble out in a cascade of experiences, at once painful and funny. Language is racy and modern, superbly capturing the experience of many children today." ( Junior Education)

Wow

A beloved childhood story of mine. I loved this storyline and especially the inner monologue of Andy. I loved all the interesting and vibrant characters. The narrator also really brought Andy to life. This is by far one of my favourites by Jacqueline Wilson.

Tragic but beatiful

Great book for kids going through their parent break-up or divorce. I read it as a child and now as an adult and loved it. Fun story that takes the sadness away from the tragedy.

suitcase kid

this is a 5🌟 book anyone who brought this book made the right choice and so will you if you get it . It's all about a young girl whose parents got a divorce so she has to move between the houses one with a mean step sister another with her dads unborn child so over all things are not going well for Andy (the girls name)
