About this listen
Disappear into the world of the Sunday Times best-selling Chocolat....
Faith. Secret. Magic. Murder....
Vianne Rocher has settled down. Lansquenet-sous-Tannes, the place that once rejected her, has finally become her home. With Rosette, her youngest child, she runs her chocolate shop in the square, talks to her friends on the river, is part of the community. Even Reynaud, the priest, has become a friend.
But when old Narcisse, the florist, dies, leaving a parcel of land to Rosette and a written confession to Reynaud, the life of the sleepy village is once more thrown into disarray. Then the opening of a mysterious new shop in the place of the florist's across the square - one that mirrors the chocolaterie, and has a strange appeal of its own - seems to herald a change: a confrontation, a turbulence - even, perhaps, a murder....
What will the wind blow in today?

Wonderful tale
I struggled at times to work out which character was speaking but this didn’t detract from a thoroughly enjoyable story of witchery and chocolate!

Wonderful!
This was my first audiobook book & what a one to start my listening activities with. I was hooked from the start & my enthrallment grew with every passing chapter. JH is a master wordsmith, with a wizard of an imagination, both of which are enhanced by her narration. Thoroughly recommended.

Made me crave strawberry jam (straight from the jar)
As always, an impeccable storyline with intrigue and just a little magic. I love the way Joanne Harris doesn’t just tell a story, she weaves in the smells, the tastes and the temperature so that you are immersed in the book rather than just reading it.
Being read by the author is always a bonus. I think you understand the intent of the words better than someone who doesn’t know the text as intimately.

A must read for all parents
This story just got better and better. Underneath the sweetness of the ongoing chocolate shop story is the dark, bitter, sad, and heart rendering reality of life & past misdeeds and cruelty. However perhaps we all hold on to misconceptions of ourselves which make us dislike ourselves even causing mental health issues. For anyone behaving badly because of the fear of losing someone you love, keep reading. If you're about to lose a child to the world of Uni or has already moved away and you miss them terribly like I do, finish this story. Ultimately the rich, soothing, delicious and comforting chocolate of life wins through ie love. You only ever borrow your children and they must go but like the wind they return bringing fresh sounds and smells to enrich our lives. This is also a story about redemption and forgiving ourselves our trespasses. This was my favourite book of all Joanne Harris and really struck a chord so thank you dear writer I salute you.

A visit with old friends
Once again Joanne Harris takes us to a sleepy village in France and we visit with old friends, share a cup of Chocolate and watch as they call the winds of change into their lives. I've been a fan of her books for a long time and enjoyed watching the characters grow with each instalment, this book is no exception.

Magnifique!😍
It was an absolute pleasure to revisit Lansquenet-sous-Tannes and Vianne Rocher in her Choclatiere. There have been many changes. Her daughters are grown, not babies anymore. She has settled into her shop and into this peaceful little village and she is no longer the outcast or unwanted stranger that she once was, when she first arrived. Even the priest, Francis Reynaud has become her friend, where once he was her greatest opposition and threat. But now the winds of change have blown and things are beginning to change yet again. Secrets are being unearthed and confessions need to be absolved and amongst this all a stranger arrives.
A beautiful, painful poignant story so beautiful narrated by the Author herself.

Great sequel to Chocolat
I really enjoyed this sequel; using several voices was interesting and added to the narrative
