Summary

By his own admission, Dougie Neil is a deeply unattractive man. With only one failed relationship to his name, Dougie is now middle-aged, single, and close to giving up his quest to find love.

Then, after the strangest of incidents at work, the unthinkable happens—Dougie is propositioned by a succession of attractive women. Miraculously, a man who hasn’t shared so much as a kiss in 20-odd years is suddenly catnip to members of the opposite sex. After a lifetime of ridicule and rejection, pain and heartbreak, Dougie can scarcely believe his sudden change of fortune.

Armed with his newfound superpower, Dougie’s only remaining challenge is to decide which of his many admirers is Ms. Right. Then he can settle down, get married, and live happily ever after.

As the most sought-after bachelor in town, what could possibly go wrong with Dougie’s plan?

Quite a lot as it so happens.

Hugely enjoyable

Really didn’t think I was going to enjoy this one having loved every other book Keith has written. I needn’t have worried. Every story is well crafted with humour, a paranormal element, twists, turns, lots of down to earth wisdom & a satisfying ending. Enjoyable narration of a well written story. Highly recommended.

Thoroughly enjoyable

Another nice story from Keith A Pearson. Not the most thrilling rollercoaster of plots and all the twists and turns (bar one at the very end) were clearly signposted. Nonetheless the author is once again fantastic in introducing you and making you care about the protagonist and keeps the story moving along at a good pace with no unnecessary elaborate descriptions or waffle.

Thanks Keith

Dougie always deserved his happy ending. I can only thank the Author, as well as the narrator, for such a charmingly comedic journey to arrive at said happy ending.
My sight is slowly failing me, so I am just so grateful that Mr. Pearson keeps coming up with such terrific characters and plots to fill the gap of what ; pre audible, I would have considered light reading. Well please be certain that in listening to Kieth Pearsons wonderful portrayals, with Well chosen narrators we may well be listening to a new concept.... the light listen. Thanks again Kieth.
I look forward to hearing your next works.

Not my favourite by this author, but a good tale all the same

Correct rating 3.5
I’ve enjoyed many of the authors other books but found it hard to warm to Dougie as a character. Just didn’t find him a very pleasant person until the last couple of chapters of the book, but still, it was an interesting “be careful for what you wish for” tale.

Great Story

I really enjoyed this book. I felt very invested in Dougie and what happened to him. A feel good story with a twist which is usual in Keith's books. The narrator was fab and really brought the character to life. Sorry I've finished it so quickly.

Another Gem

Another gem from Keith Pearson written in a very open and easy style with characters you relate to and a story that is engaging, entertaining and sometimes unexpected.
Very well read by the narrator who does the book justice and creates convincing voices for the characters.

Excellent.
