Great overview of history of yoga

This was a great insight into the spiritual side of yoga. Certain stories were a little complicated and I needed to listen a few times to get the message. However that's probably the point! Hehe. Would recommend as a good listen.

Mixed Feelings

I love the content of this audio book, however I really did not enjoy the way it was presented, by three different presenters who took it in turn to read snippets. I found the constant changes in voice distracting and it definitely detracted from the pleasure I might have received from its contents.

Excellent performance bringing the story to life

I found this book to be quite difficult to follow but having listened to I on audible and the excellent performances of the narrators, I found it much easier to understand and hold my attention.

Does not translate!

I expected this book to cover the philosophy behind Yoga and provide an interesting insight into living a spiritual life that included Yoga. Instead I got a series of exercises explained that do not translate into an audio book. A very boring book. I cannot imagine who the client group would be that could enjoy this book. Very disappointed!

Terrible abridged version

The audiobook version is terrible. It doesn’t state anywhere that it is abridged and has missed out whole chapters of the book - don’t bother. If you want to read this book you’ll have to go for the paperback version!
The reading of what is included is quite disjointed with two different narrators.

Does not follow the book

This audio version does not follow the book. In fact, it does not include many interesting chapters contained in the actual book. This is most inconvenient when you've been tasked to write an essay based on these various missing chapters, and you only have time to listen to them on the go.

This is not the full book!

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

From browsing the kindle preview I can instantly see that this is not even nearly half of the book. I can see it is described as abridged - but assumed it would mean missing out the table of contents & unnecessary things, this is a very short overview & should not be equivalent to the full book. Very disappointing, now I will have to buy the kindle edition.
