About this listen

Victim: male. Mid-30s. Five foot seven. Cause of death: hanging. Initial impression - murder. ID: Mickey Doyle. Suspected terrorist and member of the Mayday Five.

The officers at the crime scene know exactly who the victim is. Doyle was one of five suspected bombers who caused the deaths of 16 people. The remaining four are also missing, and when a second body is found, decapitated, it's clear they are being killed by the same methods their victims suffered.

Forensic psychologist Paula Maguire is assigned the case, but she is up against the clock - both personally and professionally. With moral boundaries blurred between victim and perpetrator, will Paula be able to find those responsible? After all, even killers deserve justice, don't they?

A very enjoyable read

Would you listen to The Silent Dead again? Why?

I love detective stories especially deep rich detective stories like this particular one. It had some great twists and turns. the story lines continued from the previous books but they managed to give enough detail so that you could listen to this story without needing to read the previous story's. I spent many enjoyable hours with this story. I think it is very well written,

What about Joanne King’s performance did you like?

Joanne King has a really lovely voice to listen to it helped me to become instantly hooked into the story, sometimes I can find narrators voices quite jarring or hypnotic but not Joanne kings.

May Day Murders

I found this very difficult to get on with but persevered and found the last two hours kept me wanting to follow.
