About this listen
A year on from the mysterious disappearance of Jenny Bercival, DI Wesley Peterson is called in when the body of a strangled woman is found. The discovery mars the festivities of the Palkin Festival, held each year to celebrate the life of John Palkin, a 14th-century mayor of Tradmouth who made his fortune from trade and piracy.
Could there be a link between the two women? And is there a connection to a fantasy website called Shipworld, which features Palkin as a supernatural hero with a sinister faceless nemesis called the Shroud Maker?
When archaeologist Neil Watson makes a grim discovery on the site of Palkin’s warehouse, it looks as if history might have inspired the killer.…

Good for Oldies?
If you could sum up The Shroud Maker in three words, what would they be?
Conjured up and era.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Shroud Maker?
Liked most of it. Difficult to say.
What aspect of Gordon Griffin’s performance might you have changed?
Think voices could have been different. Sometimes hard to differentiate between female characters.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes and I did.
Any additional comments?
I am of a certain age and I feel that this book can relate to those strange times in social history when certain things were not acceptable. Slightly different from Rendall's usual form but I enjoyed it. Felt she captured the era so correctly and the characters were well drawn but perhaps not for a younger audience.

This series gets better and better.
I was glued to my earphones. The twists and turns in the plot held me captive and I cannot wait for the next book.

Quite good
I enjoyed this book but at times the author seemed to lose his hold on you and I felt myself waving but knew if I kept on he would get back on track. Having said that I said enjoy it.

good story, although a bit choppy
I enjoyed this book,, and delighted that Gordon Griffin is back narrating. the story is a bit all over the place, and I found that if I missed a bit I was confused. but I enjoyed the cross of history and present day.
