Summary

As any true sports fan will tell you, once you have an allegiance to a team it's set in stone. It's unwavering. It's finite. You never leave. Yet somehow, I've been asked to do just that.

To set aside my love for The Yankees and take ownership of The New York Lions—the worst team in Major League Baseball. Oh, yes, and turn them into winners. An impossible job I don't want, from a gift I couldn't get a refund on.

But bring me a challenge and I will rise to it . . . Never, in all my thirty-one years, have I shied away. And, technically, I still haven't. Because, technically, I haven't accepted this particular challenge. Or two.

Enter Lowe Slater. The woman of my dreams. The woman I've loved from afar since I knew what love meant. My sister's best friend and the one who's been tasked to help me.

Twenty-five years I've kept Lowe at arm's length. Now she's everywhere I go. I have a team to build and somehow I'm doing it with Lowe by my side.

The walls I've so carefully constructed are falling down brick by brick, and soon it's not just the Commissioner's Trophy at stake.

It's my heart, too.

Penn is my new favourite Tuesday Club MMC! 😍

I have devoured this entire series in the last few weeks and to say I’m obsessed would be a huge understatement! They just kept getting better and better, and I was not expecting Penn to be my favourite! He was literal chef’s kiss perfection 🤌🏼

Penn was the definition of a boy obsessed! He fell in love with Lowe when he was five years old and it was so sweet to hear more of his stories about loving her from afar. I loved the bonds he shared with his dad and gramps, and my heart felt for him as he struggled with his grief among a family of women. And I loved his obsession with baseball! Yes he had a childish tantrum about becoming the new owner for the Lions, but as an avid sports fan myself I completely understood him not wanting to switch alliances. 😅 In the first two books he comes off as a bit of a trust fund player swanning through life, but I really loved getting to see his mind at work. I mean he’s a literal genius, and when he sets his mind to something, there’s no stopping him!

We didn’t see much of Lowe in the earlier books so I really loved getting to know her. She struggled with her mother’s expectations and the society pressures of settling down (haven’t we all!). But once she got a little taste of her own freedom, it was so good to watch her shine! I laughed when she thought that Penn had always hated her, because we were also seeing all the pining from his POV at the same time 🤭

Their relationship was insta-love but it didn’t feel like it at all! We had the 25 year slow burn from Penn, so it felt like a “finally!” moment when he made his move 😍 And once Penn had Lowe, there was no way he was letting her go! He was protective, playful, swoony and I loved how he stood up for her with Lauren and Abby!

The Found Family is one of my favourite things about Lulu’s books and The Tuesday Club is one of the best!! The love and support that Rafe and Murray showed Penn while he was struggling with the Club and then how excited they were for him with Lowe, it made me melt! I love this band of brothers so much and I’m so sad to have finished 😭

The Show brought to life

Characters are perfectly encapsulated. The Tuesday Club boys are so loveable and it’s the perfect end to the trilogy

Great story and loved revisiting these characters

Absolutely fantastic story brought to life. The performances were solid, my only little teeny complaint is that the male narrator volume is really variable so I had to constantly adjust the volume but I suspect that it's due to the range of emotions expressed, and at times Jupiter is Juniper (or it sounds like Juniper particularly by the female narrator in chapter 15) - it is still a 4.5 for performance though.
