Summary
Could you find a hotel for a harpy? Or a bar for a Bigfoot?Following the disaster that was her last job, Zoë is searching for a fresh start as a travel writer in New York City.
After stumbling across a seemingly perfect position, though, Zoë is blocked at every turn because of the one thing she can't take off her résumé - human. Not to be put off by anything - especially not her blood-drinking boss or death goddess co-worker - Zoë delves deep into the monster world. But her assignments turn deadly when the careful balance between humans and monsters starts to crumble with Zoë right in the middle.

mur at her best
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I've been a fan of mur for years now and she only seems to get better,
shambling is a side ways look at an alternative ny city where every conceivable type of being is out there somewhere, its intelligent witty and even pretty hot and steamy in places, mur! who knew!
a sure fire hit would definitely recommend 5*

One Of The Best Travel Guides I've Ever Read!
If you could sum up The Shambling Guide to New York City in three words, what would they be?
Funny, Charming and Engaging
Any additional comments?
This book was wonderfully read by the author herself, a brilliant listen that you just didn't want to put down. Looking forward to the second book also coming out in audio format.

Fun and fluffy
Would you listen to The Shambling Guide to New York City again? Why?
Probably not - it was a junk food kind of book, something you veg out with rather than savour. I'm also not the biggest fan of urban fantasy, which I always forget until I read some, but it held up well.
Did Mur Lafferty do a good job differentiating each of the characters? How?
Yes she did, with her varied voices. I will say that her accent is quite jarring, however, especially for a British audience.
Any additional comments?
The romance was obviously predictable, but the zombie problem took some interesting turns, as did the Big Bad. Overall, it surprised me by subverting my expectations.

So funny and so entertaining
I loved it thank you murr. So entertaining and refreshing to see the usual take on this kind of story turned on its head. I love it's "everyday" attitude to the fantastical. It works so well in listened to both story's more than twice already I am waiting with baited breath for the next book.
