Good for learning to listen in Chinese
Reading speed is slowed down deliberately to aid listening. The story is a familiar one from my childhood although I don't remember its being set in China ;-) I found this premise quite entertaining and absolutely love the illustrations of the covers in this series. Will be listening to the rest as well

Another great graded reader
Clear and easy to follow. Used the key info (characters, vocab) free download from the mandarin companion website to help with understanding. The speed is great but for certain sections being able to reduce it to 0.75 was so useful.

Childhood memories
I strongly recommend choosing a book that you know and starting there. The secret garden was one of my favourite childhood books. Although I am only HSK2 I could follow the audio book because i knew the tory. I didn’t understand all of the words but that doesn’t matter, By the end of the book I cold already hear the Mandarin much clearer. This is a GREAT way of improving your listening skills.

Very good but...
...could do with a PDF to follow along with. Other than that its a good place to improve listening comprehension.

no pdf, cheeky way of getting u to buy again
really good narration, good speed and easy to hear, which is something which is hard for beginners because chinese in tv and movies is very fast usually and hard to hear the first letters of words sometimes

Bad recording
When listening, you will hear a high pitch layer of the voice which is very annoying.
