This book should be on prescription from the NHS

This book should 100% be on prescription from the NHS! It is jam-packed full of simple, practical advice on how to thrive and take control of your health in older age. It gives hope and well-researched examples that show it’s never too late to make changes, and that even small ones can make a big difference to quality of life as we age. I was totally inspired by it, will be revisiting it on a regular basis (far too much to take in in one go!) and will most certainly be recommending it to my clients and friends.

Very useful life tips

The book was packed with useful information. Some information I knew and some I didn't. It has encouraged me to start jogging again and made me think about other health info I hadn't considered. Very useful to have the pdf too.

Excellent comprehensive guide

This book covers many contributory factors for retaining or achieving optimal health as we age, and they are presented in an accessible, easy to digest form. I particularly enjoyed the advice and information on diet and exercise as the suggestions made for making improvements are things that actually seem manageable. The author highlights the power of making small changes and the impact these can have in the long term, backed by scientific evidence from multiple studies and sources. It was interesting to hear about the effect of mental and emotional health on physical wellbeing and good to see this included. A great audiobook with excellent clear narration that kept the pace and interest going, making this a thoroughly enjoyable listen.

Wonderful and empowering

There is so much wonderful information in this book that is is hard to know where to start other than to say it that it is worth every minute of listening. And it is so well narrated. For the first time I can remember I actually want to give everything a go and feel good about what I achieve - no matter how small.

Some things are so simple - it is full of facts that matter in terms of your age, and it explains why any action will benefit you - even 3,500 steps will help you, it doesn’t need to be 5,000 or 10,000.

Rainbow food, superfoods (not as great as we think), microbiome, ‘accidental’ fasting (we all do this without knowing), weight loss - and everything is so easy to remember for some reason. It has resources, examples, and tells you what you can do.

I can’t recommend this highly enough - it demystifies everything you will know about but might have thought you were too old for or it was too hard to get into the habit and stick to - you aren’t, it isn’t and you can. That’s what this book made me realise.
