Summary

My dad says bad things happen when I break it....

Daniel is looking forward to his birthday. He wants pie and chips, a big chocolate cake and a comic book starring his favourite superhero. And as long as he follows The Rule, nothing bad will happen.

Daniel will be 23 next week. And he has no idea that he's about to kill a stranger. Daniel's parents know that their beloved and vulnerable son will be taken away. They know that Daniel didn't mean to hurt anyone, he just doesn't know his own strength. They dispose of the body. Isn't that what any loving parent would do?

But as forces on both sides of the law begin to close in on them, they realise they have no option but to finish what they started. Even if it means that others will have to die.... Because they'll do anything to protect Daniel. Even murder.

Early didn’t finish

I have loved this author’s books but not this one as much. I did get into the story despite the terrible narration of one of the characters, it was basically matt berry doing a jammed up voice over voice. Def prefer authors other books . Good idea for a story, lots of characters, slight twists and turns, I was rooting for the main characters. Glad I finished but I nearly gave up half way through.

Ok. This was probably one of the best book I have read so far . At first I’m not quite sure what getting into the story,I thought I knew already the ending but it wasn’t.
. A story of a father who will do everything for his son and wife. Everything. He is only a normal guy who works in a garage until it changes everything till he started to talk with the small drug clan, even being mugged he roomed but still manage to make a plan to save his sons life.
Daniel has a special needs. He doesn’t lie. So everything that his dad did was out in the open, but the other hand is the detective , Hannah. Who’s been hunted by her daughter , but she manage to save Daniel in all the chaos happen.

.
Ending was amazing, to be honest I felt kike I want to read more. But thennagain of course something need to end . I’m looking forward to read more on this author and I definitely super definitely try the audiobook version . The narrator was amazing! Super 5⭐️ On him too x ( mark oosterveen ) such an amazing voice actor.

Good story, didn't enjoy the narration.

Enjoyed the story but couldn't get on with the accents and voices for the characters. Almost stopped listening because of the voice used for Scott.

Great story, bizarre narration choices

The story was great, why the narrator chose to do an impression of Toast of London for the main character’s voice was not at all clear.
Still really enjoyed it though.

Put off by narration

I've never understood why people are put off by bad narration. Until now. The characters are lost beneath the bizarre narration. I'm sure there's a good story in there somewhere.
