About this listen
Brought to you by Penguin.
When May teams up with Sally and Harriet it is the best day's work she's ever done.
Each of them needs money, badly.
Which is why they are reduced to working for Quality Cleaners under the watchful eye of 'Slimeball' Slater. When they discover it is them being taken to the cleaners, they set up as an independent team.
And that is when things really begin to take off. With more lucrative jobs coming in, they soon find that they are able to take the first steps towards freedom and independence.
For May that means paying the mooring fees for her adored houseboat. Harriet can take art classes and reveal her gift for painting, and Sally can save up for a place of her own. But while they are making a success of their working lives, they risk overlooking the romantic possibilities they have created.

Great story with some proper belly laughs
The story of May, Harriet and Sally as the struggle to find a new start in a new business. As they learn about business, love and life on board. This was really funny

Another delightful Katie Fforde.
I love Katie Fforde books , this is just as good as her others . Laugh out loud funny, with a lovely story . Set partly on a barge . The narrator so suited the story . and although her male voices were a little ott, they suited the characters. I could actually see James when she was doing his voice. Great fun.

The Rose Revived
It was wonderful hearing Katie’s book come to life again. I read this charming book when it was first released. Humour and uplifting story line that was very welcome to escape to. Jilly Bond’s narrative both, entertaining and engaging with believable accents. Fab listen all round.

Easy to listen too BUT..
I like Katie FFord books as they are an a nice easy listen but PLEASE get a narrator who could do a better job of the male voices. I almost gave up on this one.

Weak characters, poor narration.
I tried to like this book but unfortunately couldn’t warm to any of the ridiculous characters. Weak and spineless pretty much sums them all up. The narration just added to my displeasure, being overly breathy and lacking heavily in differentiation between the characters
