Summary

The Roots of Elmore's Existence is a story about the importance of connection to family, to friends, and to the world in which we live. It is a story of love and escapism, and it speaks of the adventurous nature of the human spirit and the power of dreams.

Willoughby Elmore is the last in line to the family name and sole steward to a forest of sequoia trees in Northern California. After having spent too many years in solitude, his life appears empty, and his spirit has waned.

One morning, Willoughby rises from a dream so vivid he cannot distinguish it from reality. The power of it awakens him. With his eyes and mind wide open, his perspective on the world around him begins to change, and he sees the extraordinary and unbound possibilities that life can have to offer.

Willoughby dares to believe that his life can be different, discovering that it can be whatever he chooses to make of it. He begins to realize the importance of having a dream, not knowing that having a dream could prove to be more critical than he could ever have imagined.

Boring narration

I love the idea of this story and I bet on paper form it would be wonderful. It’s really let down my the narration, it’s rather monotone and there’s a very annoying sound continually of a sharp intake of breath!! I find I’m struggling to take in the story because I drift off with the monotone of the voice. HOWEVER it’s great to listen to at night as it doesn’t over stimulate, which is a great thing! So swings and roundabouts. I think though i will pick this up in paper form so I can take in the story better.
