About this listen
Luxury villas on hot white sand, views for miles over turquoise water.
Flawless hostess Penny gathers guests to an island for her husband’s birthday celebrations.
But she soon regrets inviting self-obsessed Eloise…
When a child vanishes on the night of the party, their perfect island weekend is ripped apart. Even paradise harbours murky secrets…
Has he been taken? Has he drowned?
In the panic to find any trace, Penny casts about for someone to blame—even if that person is her own daughter, Rosie. Even clear waters descend to pitch black…
But it’s not the first time Rosie’s been attacked by her mother. And it’s not the first time she’s turned to Eloise for support.
As the sun beats down and dark secrets rise to the surface, can they find the missing child before it’s too late—or will this sudden disappearance endanger them all? …and someone among them knows the whole shocking truth

Great a story that had me hooked!
Loved the dynamics of the relationships. The connections are complex and full of the tribulations that makes us all human. The twist and turns made it a great book. I, personally, really, enjoyed!

Great, for a freebie!
Excellent narration, always a plus. I'll admit to getting a little confused with the storyline, and the switching between characters. A taught stylish thriller, set in the sunshine? Yes please!

it's okay but a bit anti climactic
worth listening to, but not the gripping read I hoped for. The secrets revealed weren't dark or particularly interesting, but I'd spent so long listening before they were revealed that I listened to the whole thing.
Performance was very good though.

A great Freeb
The ending of this story was gripping! My only moan would be. It took a long time for anything to develop but considering the story was free. I would give it 10 out of 10. Definitely worth a listen if you like women drama and a little bit of a thrill

Somewhat childish but absorbing
Appears to have been written by someone with scant knowledge of boats, physiology, or psychology. The basic "lost child" narrative works quite well, but the relationship between the protagonist mothers is drawn in primary colours, doesn't sound real. And their behaviour is depicted in a way that makes me wonder if this was in fact written by a child? Or a boy?
The narration is quite good.
Perhaps this is really the way people behave in Oz, but I find that hard to believe.

Very well written, great narrative, loved the descriptions and was transported to that island!
This book is really worth a listen. Two great narrators, and an interesting storyline. A little bit of everything from romance to suspense.

Average
This could have been so good but I felt it was deliberately being drawn out to fulfil a word count which made it repetitive and too wordy. I am struggling to continue with it if I’m honest. I find the narrator irritating as she cannot seem to pronounce a t or tt in the middle of a word (warder/water, budder/butter, fodo/photo, idily/Italy,dorder/daughter) and now I’m tuned into it, it’s all I can hear unfortunately. I’m glad I didn’t use a credit for this as it’s a fairly weak read in my opinion.
