About this listen
Will life ever return to normal?
That’s the question everyone in the O’Connell family has asked since their lives were turned upside down by a murder charge. With their father now back from the dead, the O’Connells are coming to grips with the idea that justice isn’t equal. But despite the pending arrival of a new grandchild, and the fact that the family is settling into a new identity, trouble seems to always be one step away. This time, it could come from within, as a shadowy new enemy has found its way into the close-knit family and could ultimately destroy the bond the siblings share, forcing them to finally cut their losses and walk away from one another.

I'm not the right person for this book
I have a feeling this is a love letter to fans of this series as a sort of "where are they now" book but I didn't know the characters at all, so this was a miss for me. As a newbie, it just sort of is a bunch of disjointed stories.

Another thrilling story!
After the spectacular ending of the previous book, I couldn’t wait to begin listening to this one. This story is full of action and family drama. We finally get to meet Luke’s love interest but that brings its own set of problems.
The birth of the new grandchild was also full of suspense. Lorhainne Eckhart knows how to create the best family drama and tense situations for her characters but everything always works out in the end.
A complimentary copy of this audiobook was provided to me at my request but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author and/or narrator.
