Traditional Nicci French

Well that was an enjoyable read. Interesting story, and very sad. You can see from this book where later characters and stories started.

A superb listen.

I've never read, or listened to, anything by Nicci French before, but I certainly will in the future. The story is gripping from the veg inning, with lots of twists. A truly recommended listen.

Very dated

I love the Nicci French books but this one didn't do it for me. It was misogynistic and homophonic but this was the norm when this was written. I'm sorry but I gave up on it.

Excellent story

I very much enjoyed this layered storyline, which only revealed the truth at the very end.

I still don’t get it

Without giving anything away I don’t understand why the killer killed the first victim. Was it sexually motivated? I’ve tried listening back over it, but nope, it just doesn’t make sense. If anyone can enlighten me I would be most grateful!
So whilst this was potentially a good story (if a little far fetched in places) I just don’t get it!

Right til the end

So I thought the killer was going to be one person, but it turned out to be someone completely different, I struggled a bit to get into it, opens with a bit of gore and bed time story but after about 6 chapters was coming to bed early to

Story so so

The narrative was predictable, as were the interactions between characters. I didn’t find the denouement convincing. The most outstanding feature was the character of Michael.

The Red Room

Boring, just boring. No pace and poor story line. Won't be reading any more of Nicci French's work, it's too pedestrian.
