Simon Vance is a wonderful narrator
A sorrowful tale told through the eyes of an optimistic child, with adventure and heart. Its short, but thoroughly enjoyable and a pleasure to have experienced.

Wonderful story
This book is brilliant for all ages, a story of the times, how small children suffered at the hands of hard masters. Very entertaining had me in tears at the end. I absolutely loved it.

Reccomended, preteens to 108. :)
This is a very well written story.
I would say it is suitable for children year 6 upwards. The narrative is thoughtful, it is a very entertaining story to while away an evening covering parts of history not covered in school and dealing with coming of age dilemmas for the protagonist to deal with.
The epilogue and filling in the back history on the Tower of London are nicely done.
Did this happen? No.
Could it have?
Yes.
