Dr. Laura Schlessinger
About this listen
Women want to be in love, get married, and live happily ever after. Yet disrespect for men and disregard for the value, feelings, and needs of husbands has fast become the standard for male-female relations in America. Those two attitudes clash in unfortunate ways to create struggle and strife in what could be a beautiful relationship.
Countless women call Dr. Laura, unhappy in their marriages and seemingly at a loss to understand the power they have over their men to create the kind of home life they yearn for. Now, in The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands, Dr. Laura shows you how to wield that power to attain all the sexual pleasure, intimacy, love, joy, and peace you want in your life. With real-life examples, and real-life solutions, Dr. Laura's simple principles have changed the lives of millions. Now they can change yours.

"While many of [Dr. Laura's] listeners and readers claim her unequivocal advice has salvaged teetering marriages and improved marital harmony, others perceive Schlessinger as a throwback to what many see as years of female oppression in the home." ( Publishers Weekly)

Every Woman and girl should read/listen to this
I wish that my wife could read this, unfortunately her English is not good enough. This made me quite emotional, to hear a woman really understand men. I think that it is men that are the true romantics, but it gets suppressed by feminism. Although it appears that feminism targets men, I believe the true victims are women. Has a woman's life really got better because of feminism? I would argue that it has not.

Great advice
Not a long listen, but packed with advice and guidance. Would rather have something shorted and if quality than hours longer and just waffling on. Absolutely love her way of being Frank with the listener. Highly recommend. Read/listen to her wives!

They don’t make them like this anymore
Excellent book. Loved each second of it. I agree with the theme of the book. Women are not whining brats who are solely reliant on their husbands for entertainment. Wives have responsibilities to their husbands and children and need to be mature enough to fulfill them even when they don’t feel up to it. That right there is being a grown up.

Harsh truths
This is a brilliant book with outstanding knowledge. its full of brutal and honest truths about how society has skewed our views on men and relationships. I do not find any of the contents of this book to be wrong or misguided.
I thoroughly enjoyed and I only wish that more woman would read this and educate their daughters.

don't where feeding and care came into it
could not finish this book. this lady has men on a pedestal, they can do no wrong. if they cheat it's the woman's fault, if they return to you they are being kind and loving.
basically if you want to hear a woman slagging and blaming women for everything since the beginning of time then listen to this book. I learnt nothing from it except not to buy from this author.

I loved the book
I didn't like the audio book. Laura speaks incredibly fast, with a tone of voice that makes it hard for me to listen to and completely follow what she says. Instead of relaxed and at peace, I find myself stressed and tense, from what she says and how she says it. I've enjoyed the book on Kindle before, but listening to it hasn't at all given me the same joy.
She shares invaluable information, has plenty of good points and while I disagree with her about a lot of things (Christianity, the need for marriage, staying together for the good of the children, and a few other things), this is a good book.
It's just not a good audio book.
