Summary

If there is no honor among things, is there honor among pirates?

When the notorious pirate captain Redbone forms a new band of buccaneers, the Pirates Born of Iron and Blood, honor is a matter of life or death. Redbone’s grand idea seems reasonable—at least in a world where pirates also rule the high seas and many of the seaports. The Bloody Hag, a cold and ghastly-looking device, was created from Redbone’s imagination for this one purpose only: to bring together only the pirates worthy of the honor of wearing its mark of honor on their wrist. In Redbone’s world, you might end up dead if you aren’t a member of his bloody band of brothers.

A short romp that's okay.

A short romp, honestly it was okay. I felt it lacked excitement, and whilst the narrator did a good job with the many accents etc, the many cliché Hollywood Arrrs & Yarrs kept reminding me I was listening to fiction and breaking immersion. If like me you’re fascinated with the Golden Age of Piracy, then this is worth a listen purely to scratch an itch. I’ve purchased the second book “The Courageous Adventurer: The Iron Born Pirates, Book 2” So hoping there’ll be a bit more ‘edge of your seat’ moments in that one.

blood oath

I loved the narration of Kevin E Green, who brought out the sea, pirates and action to your ears. Perfect.

Pirate captain Redbone forms a new band of buccaneers, Honour among pirates is a matter of life or death.
Redbone and his crew now follow his new ideas. This is a world of when pirates rule the high seas and many of the seaports, also. Where superstitions are strong. Redbone created a device called the Bloody Hag, that pirates worthy of the honour of wearing its mark of honour on their wrist. If you aren’t a member of his Redbone's band of brothers, you may end up dead

Pirates

The first Timothy Patrick Means book I have listened to and it's a cracker. Plenty of swashbuckling action on the high seas as a new breed of pirates led by Redbone start to flex their muscles and bring terror to the seas. Kevin Green narration is excellent and brings the whole story to life Highly recommended.
I was kindly given a copy of the book by the narrator and leave this honest review.
