Get your spade out, you'll have to dig

When i first read this book a number of years ago it had a great impact on me. It helped me gain a lot of clarity, and from that; energy and sense of purposefulness. I loved it and recommended it to a lot of people. However, the gems are enmeshed in the endless tedious personal story, that if you blink, you could miss them. In short it felt bit like someone had a great idea, jotted it down on the back of a very small envelope and then thought...right, how can I monetize this? (first find adequate wadding) .Don't count on being able to find reminders of the all important 'how to' parts. No simple outline or recap of the most important bits in easy to find format ...no, its nearly impossible to recap main ideas without wading back through the treacle. If you do manage to make it to the last page without screaming or throwing the book across the room, well done. Its a shame because there really is something here of great value, but infuriatingly hidden and difficult to recap or summarize - especially if you've not read it for a while - you just have to keep going back and forth and back and forth trying to find relevant parts among the treacle. I also found that the single most important element is made so little of that many will probably miss it's relevance. I bought the audio version thinking it might be easier to pick back up on....but i just exchanged turning pages back and forth to constantly having to rewind! Exhausting, irritating, but the one gem that i did discover was worth having.
