About this listen
New York Times best-selling author Dr. Jason Fung joins forces with naturopathic doctor Nadia Pateguana to offer methods to prevent and reverse PCOS through diet and intermittent fasting.
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the most common reproductive disorder in the world, affecting an estimated eight to 20 percent of women of reproductive age, almost half of whom are unable to conceive. PCOS is also associated with increased risks of heart disease, ovarian and endometrial cancers, and type 2 diabetes.
In this clearly written guide, backed by science and personal experience, Drs. Jason Fung and Nadia Brito Pateguana identify the symptoms of PCOS and reveal its root cause: excess insulin. They then show how to prevent and reverse PCOS with a low-carb diet and intermittent fasting. As a bonus, 50 recipes and a variety of menu plans are included to put new knowledge into (delicious) practice.

Informative but the narration is awful
This is a great book to start you on your pcos Keto journey. The narration however, is a robotic voice which reminds me of the annoying tiktok narration. It was difficult to get through it.

Informative and detailed
The audio book format is not the best - the narration is stilted and often has unnatural pauses which makes it difficult to listen to. Also, the meal plans and food guides at the end would be better if supplemented with a pdf guide.
The content however is brilliant. I felt it gave a good breakdown of how PCOS comes about in the body and details well how to combat the root of the issue - insulin.
I will probably go ahead and purchase a written version of this book and in hindsight wish I had done this first before purchasing the audio version.

Painfully scientific, not much “plan” about it
Unfortunately rhe narrator sounds like AI is reading out a scientific research study. I’m currently on chapter 11 and there’s been nothing to justify calling it a “plan” at all so far, just tons of science. I was hoping for a combination of science, research and proactive steps I can take but it’s not getting to the point quick enough and I keep finding myself stopping listening.
