About this listen
From New York Times best-selling author Lauren Blakely.
Let's say there was this guy. And he gave you the most mind-blowing night of sex in your life. And you never saw him again.
Until 10 years later.
Now, it turns out he's the only one in all of Manhattan whose restaurant is available for my charity's event. The trouble is, he doesn't recognize me.
This woman I'm working with is so damn alluring. The first time I set eyes on her, I'm captivated and I can't get her out of my mind. Even if it's risky to tango with someone I'm working with, she's a risk I'm willing to take.
The trouble is, she won't give me the time of day.
But I'm determined to change that.

Good performance but Webber needs an accent
Love both of these narrators, but the female POV gave him an accent, but when the male narrator (Webber) was talking he didn't.
I still loved the story, I love 2nd chance romance, but I still feel that the story called for an accent that wasn't there.

Great second chance!
I really enjoyed listening to this book by Lauren Blakely. Andi Arndt and Zackary Webber are two of my favorite performers. I was not bothered by the fact that Gabriel did not have a French or Brazilian accent when his POV was performed by Zackary Webber, while I did enjoy Andi Arndt giving him an accent when she performed Penny's POV. This book was sweet and short, it has some humor, and a great second chance at love storyline. I think Shortcake was one of my favorite characters, and a great judge. I was voluntarily provided this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, narrator, and or publisher.

A thoroughly enjoyable listen
An epic story packed into a beautiful novella.
Lauren weaved all her usual storytelling magic you get in a novel in this novella. Plenty of time to develop a connection to the main characters and get drawn into the second chance love storyline. Why things didn't happen the first time round with Gabriel and Penny, what will happen this time round?
What I love about Lauren's novella's are that they are never rushed, they are planned out and the endings are well executed.
Both narrators did an excellent job, two of my favourites here.

Amazing and sexy short story!
I love love love it!!!
The story was sexy, hot and funny! Lauren once again has not disappoint me with her story. And the narrators? They were just perfect. I felt all the right feels listening to them.
The story is about that one night that changed life of two people Penny and Gabriel. They met few years back but because of unfortunate events they were separated. Penny thought Gabriel stood her up and she decided to never make the same mistake. Until she meets him again.
I love the story for it's humour, wittiness and all the right feels.
I definitely 5 stars!

Great novella, adding nicely to the series
This novella is a gorgeous story of second chances, one that comes ten years later. THE ONLY ONE is
less of a rom-com feel, rather a contemporary read without as many witty quips and having recently read/listened to a number of Lauren Blakely's rom-cons, I enjoyed the change in pace.
The characters meet for a work deal unexpectedly after missing a planned meet ten years ago. I loved Gabriel, chef and restaurant owner, Spanish and all over nice guy. Penny was sweet but still nursing some hurt. I loved their build of interactions, connection and chemistry.
The book is narrated by two of my favourite narrators, Zachery Webber and Andi Arndt and they did a good job, however I do have a niggle. Gabriel was Spanish and described as having an accent, yet the male narrator was straight American. Then, when the female POV narrated male dialogue, she did it with a Spanish accent. This was rather disconcerting, but I went with the flow and still enjoyed it.
A copy of this audiobook was provided by the author in return for an honest review.

Perfect quick listen
Any additional comments?
Really great, quick listen by Lauren Blakely. Fantastic second-chance romance full of all the right feels and touches of humor that this author is known for. The story flows so well and doesn't feel rushed r like you're missing something despite being a novella. It just makes you want more because it's so good! Zachary Webber and Andi Arndt shine, as always, with their performances.

Amazing series with amazing narrators
Book 1.5 in The One Love by Lauren Blakely
Penny has an amazing meeting with Gabriel that means is a fast falling but after a rough ending they don’t see each other for a long time until Penny needs a restaurant to cater her animal rescue event and that when she finds Gabriel again.
Absolutely loved this series and how the characters develop and how they both sort their issues and work things out

Wonderful love story
The passion and chemistry between the two main characters is fantastic. Their love story is short indeed electric and fantastic. I enjoyed seeing how they dealt with the ten year they were apart. A second chance romance like no time had passed. Loved it! The narrators were great! I would highly recommend this book.
