Summary

This short fable is a testament to believing in something enough to die for your belief. In this case, the belief rested in the heart of a nightingale. To the bird, true love is worth more than philosophy, wisdom, and even life. Seeing a young student whose only wish was to be with the one he loved, the bird resolved to give the student what he needed to win the heart of his love. In the end the listener may wonder if the sacrifice was worth it. Was it even recognized? A fable that is as much about how we think as it is about the sacrifice of a nightingale.

Narrated by Glenn Hascall.
