About this listen
It’s two years later....
The couples from the Natural History series are back, and they’re all over the map!
In Flirtin’, Calliope is now a full-time dino romance author. She is wildly in love with her narrator/astronomer boyfriend and hoping to win big at her first Las Vegas book signing. But when Ralph is the one to hit the jackpot instead of her, their own happily ever after needs a rewrite.
In Buggin’, Mabel and Wally head to the Netherlands with two goals only: to celebrate redheads and sell some honey. They never anticipate that a mysterious man stirring up trouble will be just what they need to make life taste even sweeter.
In Baitin’, Louise and James are living it up in Hawaii and counting down the days ‘til their new baby arrives. The perfect time to host a beach wedding for their friends and family, right? When unexpected guests appear and their birth plan goes out the window, they learn once and for all to take their cues from the ocean and go with the flow.

A few hours of bliss
When you combine a witty writing style, unique characters, hilarious and/or emotional situations, and a perfect cast, you get a few hours of bliss.
The author finally offers us Ralph’s and Wally’s point of view–we got James’s in the previous book–and their respect and love for their girls is incredible. As the female characters in those books are very special and quirky, they tend to monopolize the reader’s mind, pushing the male characters to the side, literally as a side character. To give them a voice is to make them the heroes of their own story. And by being in their head, we experience their insecurities and fears and hopes. It was great.
If you only learn one thing from those stories, it’s to support your significant other in everything, by staying by their side. Not taking over. It’s the common theme, and the author illustrates it beautifully.
It was also fun to travel a bit with the characters. The setting was always meaningful, chosen perfectly for each novella. Brilliant.
Finally, the author gives closure to her characters. While being all happy endings, the previous books let some things unfinished or uncertain. Not anymore. Those novellas are kind of bonus epilogues where everything is tied in.
As for the narration, it was amazing. Each narrator has been chosen perfectly for their character, and they all managed the pace and the comic timing very well, making this audiobook a great conclusion to the series.

Such fun!
This is a group of fun Novellas by Erin Mallon. Each one is an epilogue for other stories she has written. When I listening to this I hadn't listened to the books for each of the short stories in this novella, but you honestly don't need to. They make perfect sense as a standalone. They are so much fun and tug on your heartstrings in places.
The narrators do a fabulous job, how they managed get through it all without dissolving into fits of laughter is beyond me.
Erin had me laughing from start to finish and I would definitely recommend her work to everyone.

Hilarious Return to the Natural History Series
These novellas made my heart so happy! Each one was like visiting old friends, I loved getting to see where each couple is now, and the dual perspective from all 3 couples. I listened to the audiobook, narrated by Jason Clarke, Joe Arden, Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon. I knew this was going to be my preferred way to read, and I was not disappointed. The performances by these expert narrators was absolute perfection.
In Flirtin', I loved getting to see Callie and Ralph navigate the book world. Having recently attended a book signing in Vegas, I felt like I was right there in the book. The star of this novella was definitely Jason Clarke narrating a spicy dinosaur romance scene inside of an erupting volcano. It was exactly as hilarious and wonderful as you might imagine.
In Buggin' Mabel and Wally continue to be their quirky selves which is already a recipe for hilarity. Erin Mallon performing Mabel's musical improve song was the best thing I heard all day! Joe Arden's performance as Wally was perfectly complimentary and had its own wacky humor.
In Baitin' I found this story much more emotional as Louise prepares for childbirth, but I really enjoyed seeing Louise deal with some of the not so fun parts of pregnancy, and James help her navigate their changing relationship. This story was a wonderful culmination of the three novellas grounding the overall stories and tying it all up in a little bow.
If you listen to the audiobook, Erin Mallon leaves a little audio note at the end which I loved. It feels like she left me a personal voicemail after reading her book and it made the experience that much better.
These novellas are a fantastic way to revisit old characters and I highly recommend them in audio!
I received an ALC of this book and voluntarily give my review.

Get ready for fun and laughter!
Did you ever listen to a book and when it ends, you wonder what happens next? Erin Mallon gives it to us in a hilarious look at the three couples in her Natural History series. I have to say, this is the best kind of medicine for any mood. I know it had me laughing out loud at scenes, making those around me wonder what was so funny! Giving us a glimpse two years later, we see how love evolves. The insecurities and quirkiness still exists, the problems and fun times are abundant. I love revisiting them all! It was a great look at how we all find our people, and love is everlasting. You just have to laugh!
And to make it even better, is the fabulous narration team Erin has assembled. To compliment her amazing comedic timing is Jason Clarke, Joe Arden and Teddy Hamilton. Each finding their idiosyncrasies and making them endearing, bringing a smile to our face and warmth to our hearts. I loved every minute!

Fantastic rom-com novellas
These are three rom-com novellas; let me tell you, they are a riot! Each of the novellas focuses on a different couple and their quirky adventures. My favorite was Flirtin', which had Callie and Ralph-alpha taking a trip to Vegas for their "Bone-iversary", but things get complicated when Callie doubts her skills as a Dino romance writer. Buggin' and Baitin' were just as entertaining, with Mable and Wally heading to the Netherlands for a redhead festival and Louise and James dealing with anxiety about their impending parenthood while planning their besties' wedding in Hawaii.
The stories are full of humor, steamy scenes, and heartfelt connections between the couples. Erin Mallon does an excellent job narrating each novella, and the addition of Jason Clarke, Joe Arden, and Teddy Hamilton to the audiobook versions makes them even more enjoyable. Overall, I highly recommend The Natural History Novellas for anyone looking for a fun and lighthearted read.

Natural History Novellas
OMG OMG OMG!!!
I decided it would be a good idea to do the weekly shopping whilst listening to this audiobook. Just don’t!!! Unless you want to have to explain to that little lovely old lady next to you by the bread isle that a dinosaur is having smex in your years and that’s why you looked like the weirdo laughing out loud, just don’t!
This was the best, funniest audiobook I listened to in a while.
The first two stories were simply gold comedy. Baitin’ was more serious but so heartwarming. The perfect ending to the series.
And the narrators… Jason Clarke should narrate Dino Porn forever. I’d buy those audiobooks without even waiting for a sale!! Joe Arden in the proposal scene??? Brilliant!! Who knew?? And of course Teddy Hamilton was amazing.
Erin Mallon, what else is there to say?? She wrote these characters. These three amazing women so no doubt she would be perfect narrating all of them.

Amazing Series!
This is the fourth book in the Natural history Series, a series of short novellas following Calliope/Ralph, Mabel/Wally, and Louise/James. Some scenes are hilarious! This is an amazing conclusion to this entertaining series. The cast of narrators is fantastic! Joe Arden, Jason Clarke, Teddy Hamilton, and Erin Mallon did an excellent job bringing these novellas to life. I highly recommend it.
