About this listen
A dark, gritty, pulp-fiction style thriller involving two mythological beings, who sacrifice immortality in a quest to experience human love.
In a supernatural love affair between an alcoholic private eye and a Russian dominatrix, their quest for love upsets the balance of the universe, triggering a civil war between mythological beings. The story juxtaposes the sacred and the profane, intertwining sexuality and violence with Eastern mysticism.

An epic yet intimate story of love
It's tough to write about love in a refreshing and original way, but Randy Niederman's The Myth of Love does just that. What's great about the book is that it weaves together two narratives - one cosmic and one human - effortlessly and with good style. The stakes are high - the universe literally depends on the two main characters finding love - but at its core what starts as an epic tale is really a simple, surprisingly intimate love story that is engaging and deep in every way. This relationship, to me, was by far what made the book work.
Patrick Zeller also does an amazing job narrating this, bringing the characters to life and giving a distinct voice to each and every one. Highly recommended!
