About this listen

A terrible car accident - or calculated murder?

An evening out for five students ends in tragedy, with two dead and one critically injured. Nicci Waldock survives, but her life is left in tatters. Years later, a sighting of Jack Bailey, the brother of her dead friend, leaves her with a shocking realisation about the night of the accident.

Helped by former journalist Celia Henry, Nicci sets out to learn the truth about what really happened and discovers a series of lies and dangerous secrets that have distorted everything she thinks she knows.

In uncovering the tangled truth of what happened that night three years ago, Nicci must decide who she can trust and who is about to kill again. And she realises that everything can be saved or lost in the moment before impact.

A great listen!

I really enjoyed this book, the narrator was engaging and the storyline was gripping! I loved listening to a book that was based in an location familiar to me. Alison, you’ve written a great book, it had me thinking about it even when I wasn’t listening!

another good Alison Bruce book

Have I got over the loss of Gary Goodhew, of course not, but that didn't stop me from enjoying this great thriller (perhaps a bit disappointed when it was Briggs she met at Parker Place). As with all of Alison Bruce's books you become friends to many of her characters and I hope that we get to meet aome of them again. This would make a great holiday read and will provide a great escape from the repeats on tv.

Slow to begin but definitely worth a listen

Narrator wasn't as illuminating as previous Alison Bruce novels I'd enjoyed; although, it could have been because it was a slow book to get into. Half way through it gripped me and I couldn't stop! Certainly had not expected the end!

Slow to start, ends up brilliant

I really thought that I had made a mistake in buying this, but because I am such a fan of Alison Bruce I stuck with it, gosh am I glad I did!

The book started very slowly and I was struggling to follow what was going on, but then things started to fall into place, the story was brilliant, lots of surprises and some good characters. A good read, I will read again and will probably get more from the second time around!
