Weak ending
Entranced by the storyline, ending is very disappointing. Would recommend the first book, not others

Dont know why I wasted three credits on this.
I was recommended this trilogy by a friend’s daughter. Firstly, I am way too old to be in the target audience of teenagers. Normally I love teenage fiction, fast moving plots with less, often unnecessary, descriptive prose, but these books needed severe editing. If the three had been condensed into one good book I think it could have been a five star rating all the way. Honestly, it was just boring. Adelina is a very unpleasant “heroine”. I only continued because the final chapter in book one caught my imagination.
I would most definitely not recommend these books to anyone over 16, (who wouldn’t be reading this review anyway). I think the appeal would only be for teenage girls looking to identify themselves with an outcast, misunderstood and unloved.
I gave the performance 4 stars just because I think it was fine, IF you’re American. For me it was too American, too breathless, the accents on sentences completely wrong. Maybe I would have enjoyed it more in “English”.
I won’t be returning these books and asking for my credits back (which I know I can) because I did choose to finish the series, but believe me, it’s crossed my mind, it just doesn’t seem fair to Audible.
