Summary
The Broadhursts were a mining family and, to outsiders, they appeared to be happy, loyal and united. But it was Jinny—wife, mother, sister—who held them together. Her pride and her strength prevented their fears and hates from overwhelming them. There was Jack, her younger son, trapped into marrying a shrew; and Lottie, her sister, who was not quite...normal. the way it was harder to tell what was going to happen, or the way something would happen, even if you knew it would.
liked it all. I liked the way that the same occurrences were retold but from different characters points of view. it made it more real.

Good storyline
Always a pleasure to listen to a Catherine Cookson story especially if it’s narrated by Anne Dover. This was no exception .

Loved this story 📕
The story is slow but very nice deep sad in parts of the loss but very lovely always love Catherine Cookson each book for each mood to read 📕
