Good story which kept me listening and I really enjoyed it. The character development felt a little unsophisticated at times and somehow the writing of the setting and language felt dated as though it was written by someone a little older. But overall I would recommend. I enjoyed the story and I was invested in what happened to the characters.

Someone else commented that there were continuity errors as the main character went into prison at 18 and was able to drive when he was released. We can pass our driving test at 17 in the UK, so I’m not sure why that was seen as an inaccuracy.

I was hooked by the opening lines of this book - a woman describing how happy she was to be marrying the man who had killed her only son.

As more characters are introduced - the convicted man's parents, the girlfriend of his dead best friend, and the new wife who is old enough to be his mother - their backstories and secrets are gradually revealed.

The narration is well performed conveying the feelings and personalities of the different characters.

A captivating and enjoyable listen.

This is the first Fiction I have listened to for a long time . I tend to stick to non- fiction or auto biographies , but I loved listening to this .iI would recommend this book to anyone who doesn’t want anything too heavy, but compelling enough to hold your interest . I liked that it’s not predictable ,but keeps you guessing to the end . Very well written and narrated . Can’t wait to find my next one now!
