A good fun read / listen
If you could sum up The Marionnettiste of Versailles and Other Oddities in three words, what would they be?
Irreverent
Funny
Enjoyable
What did you like best about this story?
Millard has a real knack for taking horrific stories and giving them a sense of humour that just makes you grin, and there are a fair few stories on show here. Most are very good, with only a couple of weaker entries.
What does Paul Aulridge bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
His female voices made me chuckle..................
If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Be amused. Be very amused.
Any additional comments?
If you enjoy short horror story collections that treat you with both a bit of respect as a reader as well as poking fun at the usual tropes then you'll enjoy this collection.
