Summary

The electrifying stand-alone thriller from the author of The Last Thing to Burn and First Born.

My phone has no reception, something we've been told to expect from time to time out here, and my stomach feels uneasy. Maybe it's the motion of the waves or maybe it's the fact that Pete didn't leave a note or a text. He usually leaves a note with a heart.

I pull on jeans and a jumper and scrunch my hair on top of my head and take my key card and step out into the corridor.

Thirty seconds later it hits me.

All the other cabin doors are wedged open.

Every single one is unoccupied and unlocked.

My heart starts beating harder. I break out into a run. At the end of the long corridor I take a lift down to the Ocean Lobby.

There's nobody here.

My mouth is dry.

It's like I'm trapped on a runaway train.

No, this is worse.

The RMS Atlantica is steaming out into the ocean and I am the only person on board.

This was supposed to be the holiday of a lifetime for Cas. Now she just needs to survive.

With the drama of The Woman in Cabin 10 and the tension of And Then There Were None, The Last Passenger is a psychological thriller set aboard a cruise ship about a woman whose seemingly ordinary life is suddenly thrown dramatically off course. Will Dean is the master of intense suspense and this novel is full of his trademark twists and turns.

Great story but the ending was poor.

I found myself gripped from the start and struggled to work out what was going on. Being drip fed the plot helped keep the mystery. Once it was revealed what was truly going on only added to terror. I could have believed it all ...until the end but I'm afraid the closing text had me saying "REALLY 😩?!!" Too far fetched and ridiculous. But worth a listen as that is just my opinion, and it's well narrated.

fabulously dark and deliciously evil, it kept me riveted the whole way through, brilliantly read.

Gripping!

Keeps you guessing, although you ‘feel’ like you know what is going on, but so you really 😉

The tension all the way through.

Loved the book from beginning to end usual tense and well written, gripping story I’ve come to expect from Will Dean. The narrator was excellent too .Highly recommend

Gripping

So, I really enjoyed it. It was interesting guessing all what was happening and such, however the ending, those last few sentences really frustrated me. I feel like it let the book down, unfortunately. I’m still glad I listened to it, as it really has kept my mind occupied! Other than the end I loved it a loooot.

The last passenger

I felt a slow star to this story but it turned out to be a great listen. Lots of twists and turns and sometimes story changes

Different read, kept me hooked

Really easy book to get into, the narrator was great and I easily found myself aboard the ship. The ending kinda ruined it for me but not enough not to recommend it. Will def check out more by this author. If you want an easy to listen to slightly different story this is it.

Another Great TikTok Find!

I bought this book after following Marc Sebastian on The Ultimate World Cruise doing a book club with this book on TikTok. I really enjoyed the story and it kept me guessing right until the end, then even after that... I'll never cruise again without thinking about this book.

It felt like a mash up of US Big Brother / Hunger Games and I'm here for that!!!

Very disappointing

The premise of this book seemed great. The reality was considerably less so. Characters were one-dimensional, despite attempts at shoehorning back stories for all of them in (much of the time unnecessarily and to the detriment of the overall story). The plot was a poor man’s rip off of 1997’s ‘The Game’. Narration was annoying… some of the accents were truly awful. In summary, I’m sad to say my first Will Dean book has put me off exploring the rest.

wow....what a book!!!

Suspense, twists, horror, excellent story line and believable characters. Cannot say too much, otherwise I would give away some of the story, but this book will stay with me for a long time, just like his previous book, The Last Thing To Burn. How on earth did Will Dean come up with such a story? What comes next?
