Outside the island there is nothing: the world destroyed by a fog that swept the planet, killing anyone it touched. On the island: it is idyllic. 122 villagers and 3 scientists, living in peaceful harmony. The villagers are content to fish, farm and feast, to obey their nightly curfew, to do what they’re told by the scientists.
Until, to the horror of the islanders, one of their beloved scientists is found brutally stabbed to death. And they learn the murder has triggered a lowering of the security system around the island, the only thing that was keeping the fog at bay.
If the murder isn’t solved within 107 hours, the fog will smother the island – and everyone on it.
But the security system has also wiped everyone’s memories of exactly what happened the night before, which means that someone on the island is a murderer – and they don’t even know it…

Fantastic narrator
Turton’s book is full of twists and turns and paints a great fantasy backdrop.
I really loved Adjoa Andoh’s narration. That added so much to the experience. So many characters and voices to wrangle! Great job.

Most enjoyable
I snapped this up after reading the blurb, as it sounded exactly my cup of tea. It was just that; a post apocalyptic murder mystery on an island. Adjoa Andoh was fantastic as always. I wish she could read all my audiobooks. She always has such distinct voices for each character, that it is easy to keep track of who's speaking, plus giving extra depth to the characters. The murder mystery part was a little too convoluted at times and I found it a bit difficult to keep track of who did what and when, but there were some well-paced reveals of the island's mysteries along the way, all rounded off with a very satisfying conclusion. I wish Audible had included a pdf of the map that Stuart mentioned in the acknowledgements, partly because it would just be nice to see, but also might have helped keep better track of events.

Worth sticking with...
Intriguing plot in an unusual setting. Really worth sticking with as it picks up suddenly.

Loved the narrator and performance and enjoyed the story, however it did feel slow in places.

Great story but awful, over the top narration.
I absolutely love all of Stuart Turton’s books. This is up there with the best. Sadly I had to abandon the audiobook and purchase the hardback edition (signed!). The narrator’s voice was lovely to listen to until she put on the most preposterous voices of characters (particularly Niema, Hephaestus and Thea). I listen to a lot of audiobooks as I drive a lot and this was by far the worst, with voices too off-putting to enjoy. Great story though!

Clever story with stunning narration
I love Stuart Turton's puzzle-style novels. Last Murder is clever and well-thought through with just enough information revealed to keep you listening for more. The narration is outstanding and really adds to the story.

Excellent! Highly recommended.
I loved this! A perfect blend of sci-fi and murder mystery. The main character was endearing and the narration was very good. I kind of saw the ending coming, but it didn't spoil my enjoyment of the story.

Interesting observations and a twisty plot
Enough said! See above. Don’t know why I gave you take 15 words to say I liked it
