Summary
What would you do if you uncovered a dark secret about someone you love—something they don't even know about themselves? Would you reveal the truth, or would you keep it buried?
When Dallas Warden walked into Dr. Veronica Scarlett's life, he nearly drove her to the brink. Now, months later, his memories of their intense, three-year relationship have been wiped clean. A chance encounter at a Hollywood Hills party reignites his passion for her, but this time, Vero isn't falling so easily. Armed with the memories he can't access, she holds all the power—and Dallas is unknowingly at her mercy.
Set in a near-future Los Angeles where corporations offer consumers unprecedented mental abilities, this is a story of truth, vulnerability, and passion. Dr. Veronica Scarlett is a heroine like no other, embodying the intelligence, strength, and complexity of a woman in control of her destiny.
As she navigates a landscape of emotional power, Vero must decide: Will she crush the man who once nearly destroyed her, or rise above their tumultuous past to embrace wisdom and compassion?
Smart, sexy, and emotionally charged, this tale of resilience and empowerment introduces Dr. Veronica Scarlett as the ultimate badass heroine for the next century—and beyond.

Sci-fi short story of what relationships could look like in the future
Brilliant! Don’t want to give any spoilers, but this story will have you thinking about your past relationships and how they affect your future ones. This will have you wonder whether future technology will help you and your partner forget your past traumas and improve your future relationship and the ethical side of it all.

Intriguing listen but the end is too open
I loved the narrator and the story premise. The idea of technology which changes your memory and all sorts of other stuff terrified me and, had the ending left things in any way resolved for such a huge issue, this would have been a five-star listen for sure. As it is, the finale fell flat on its face and felt rushed and way too open for me. I guess that, at an hour’s length, this is too short a book to offer anything deeper, and I’d love to see this turned into a novel. The story felt as though it had a good beginning and a solid middle, but it ended there, rather than giving any closure.
So, in summary, if you don’t mind a sudden and unresolved ending, this is a book that will leave you with lots of questions around the technological possibilities rocketing our way already, and it might leave you as unsettled (in a good way) as it did me. I give a solid three stars, which I class as a positive review. See my notes below …
