Summary

London. A city apart. Inimitable. Or so it once seemed.

Spiralling from the outer limits of the Overground to the pinnacle of the Shard, Iain Sinclair encounters a metropolis stretched beyond recognition. The vestiges of secret tunnels, the ghosts of saints and lost poets lie buried by developments, the cycling revolution and Brexit. An electrifying final odyssey, The Last London is an unforgettable vision of the Big Smoke before it disappears into the air of memory.

Finally, Iain Sinclair!

Maybe it took a lockdown to get Iain Sinclair to sit still long enough to record his own books, but it was worth the wait. More please.

Wonderful

Personally I enjoyed accompanying Mr. Sinclair on his walk around London and beyond, he has a wonderfully easy conversational tone, one that feels as if it is being invited into an adjacency pair conversation. I do not believe it is because I know a lot of the locations described in this story which made me feel at home, rather it was Iain's warm, embracing tone, that welcomed me in and let me walk with him along it.

Thanks for letting me come with you on this journey.
