About this listen
Brought to you by Penguin.
Over 1 million Discworld audiobooks sold – discover the extraordinary universe of Terry Pratchett’s Discworld like never before.
The audiobook of The Last Continent is read by Colin Morgan (Merlin; Testament of Youth; Belfast). BAFTA and Golden Globe award-winning actor Bill Nighy (Love Actually; Pirates of the Caribbean; Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) reads the footnotes, and Peter Serafinowicz (Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace; Shaun of the Dead) stars as the voice of Death. Featuring a new theme tune composed by James Hannigan.
'Anything you do in the past changes the future. The tiniest little actions have huge consequences. You might tread on an ant now and it might entirely prevent someone from being born in the future.'
Rincewind, inept wizard and reluctant hero, has found himself magically stranded on the Discworld's last continent.
It's hot. It's dry. There was this thing once called The Wet, which no one believes in any more. Practically everything that's not poisonous is venomous. But it's the best bloody place in the world, all right?
And in a few days, it will die. The only thing standing between the last continent and wind-blown doom is Rincewind, and he can't even spell wizard. Still . . . no worries, eh?
The Last Continent is the sixth book in the Wizards series, but you can listen to the Discworld novels in any order.
The first book in the Discworld series - The Colour of Magic - was published in 1983. Some elements of the Discworld universe may reflect this.
'A minor masterpiece. I laughed so much I fell from my armchair' Time Out

Amazing narration!
I have absolutely loved Colin Morgan’s narration of the series. I thought previous versions were good when I heard them but this is a whole other level. I cannot believe how many different Australian-accented voices he had to do, plus the usual wizards’ voices… and somehow he doesn’t get them mixed up as I have heard others do who have had much fewer characters to voice. On top of that the story narration is so full of character. Very impressive narration and very enjoyable story.

So far the funniest Discworld
So many puns. Not laughed so much in a Discworld book so far. Pratchett at his best and great role for Rincewind again. Although the Australian accent is questionable, I think it is a skit on what people will perceive as the stereotyped Aussie character which fits well in the misunderstood view the wizards have on reality. The personas of the characters worked well.

Great story, so-so narration
The story is fantastic, and listening to it gives a new appreciation for the characters.
One of the stronger narrations in the wizards series, with the XXXXian voices being great to hear. A shame that the wizards voices are still so grating.

Brilliant
One of my favourite Pratchett novels and I love this re-recording. Colin Morgan is an excellent audio actor and the way Death and the footnotes are handled is very amusing. Highly recommended.
