Summary
Bowen Tyler, his reluctant crew and a blonde heroine, find themselves marooned in a nightmare world of mighty dinosaurs and bestial apemen who kill on sight. This is the lost continent of Caspak, a hot, dark and mysterious prehistoric world located somewhere in the icy waters of the Antarctic. Their only hope of rescue is a note in a bottle flung into the sea. The survivors persist and penetrate the heart of Caspak to find the incredible secret that claws, fangs and spears have guarded since the beginning of time.

Three for one
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Certainly
What other book might you compare The Land that Time Forgot to, and why?
The Lost World and King Kong (This trilogy predates Kong by approx 20 years)
What didn’t you like about David Sharp’s performance?
David Sharp's narration is OK, but he starts the first book in a bit of a breathless rush, however he slows down after a couple of chapters.Where he really falls down is his attempts at the different british accents; They vary from Comic caricature, to complete Laugh-out-Loud bad!
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I would say nostalgia - "The Land that time forgot" was the first book I read as a kid.
Any additional comments?
Don't be mislead by the book title, This is the complete Caspak Trilogy:
"The Land that time forgot"
"The People that time forgot"
"Out of time's abyss"
If you bought them separately it would cost a lot more. That's Good value for money.
All in all, they're very entertaining adventure stories

The Audiobook That Time Forgot
I know that audiobook narrators Simon Vance and Simon Brick are far too busy to do every audiobooks and excluding some of the celebratities that do audiobooks, why do companies like Blackstone who do these audiobooks hire good narrators. I have heard some bad and some very dreadful narrators in my time but David Sharp is one of those very dreadful narrators.
Sometimes, David stutters and a few time you can hear him turning a page of a transcript. As for some of the British and German accents, they are so awful as Sean Connery doing an Irish, Russian, French, etc accents. The same thing goes to do the accents of Caspak and female voices. Just don't do them please, my ears can't take much abuse like that..
If it was good narrator, then I would be able to enjoy this trilogy.
