About this listen

Aging Rock God Jim Sullivan is heading for the quiet life on his tiny newly acquired island, off the coast of Cornwall. That is until he sends a letter to the King of England, announcing his intent to declare independence from the UK and appointing himself king.

Determined not to cede one inch of British territory, the UK government dispatches low-level Foreign Office researcher John Cabot to put a stop to Sullivan's ambitions.

What they didn't anticipate was Cabot's tenacity for unearthing information they'd rather he didn't, or Sullivan's relentless, but completely unfounded, optimism in his own ideas.

Armed with nothing more than a guitar and a spreadsheet, can these two stand up to the might of the British Empire?

No contest.

Trying to cast actors/rock stars for the film

Absolutely brilliant, I would highly recommend this book. Slow start but when it gets going don't listen in a pubic space, you'll embarrass yourself laughing. Sindy is a gem of satire and I'm in love with Tiggy. Get it, enjoy.

I just loved this.

Great story. I have a real feel for Little Didney now. I loved the story, I have loved all of David Luddington’s books. They make me laugh. I could absolutely imagine Jim, John and Tiggy they were clear in my mind.
I am now searching for all the books in my local bookshops. I really need them. I might go and re listen now.

His best book yet

I actually laughed aloud two or three times. Super plot and, as always, the characters are wonderful

British weirdness at its finest.

In the spirit of Tom Sharp. Silly and funny story as our hero tries to navigate his way through ever more outrageous situations.

Wonderfully Refreshing

I absolutely loved listening to this book, totally ridiculous but wonderful entertainment. It raised more than a few sniggers and definite laugh out loud moments. My mind has been on overdrive picturing an aging rocker racing around an island on a tank in a blue mist of smoke...JD for the lead in the movie....

Laugh out loud

I've listened to a few of David Ludfington's books and enjoyed them all but this one is the best so far. Can't wait for more from this author!

Loved it! Really hoping for a sequel

Brilliantly written and performed 😁
No spoilers, so I’ll just say, I Loved the characters, so much so, that I am hoping we get the further antics of John, Tiggie and Jim.
